belly button rings

I've had my belly button pierced for about three years. It started to bug me so I took it out and planned to push it through every couple of days to make sure it didn't close. Well... I forgot the past three days, tried again today and I can't get it all the way through!! if it's already starting to close up that seems weird to me. But I was wondering if I just give up and leave it out, Will it be healed before it starts to stretch really bad? I'm 12 weeks today and still pretty tiny. The Holes still the same size and there's no scarring, I just don't want it to look worse if I let it close up! any other mommas with a similar problem?

    My belly button piercing has never closed up. I've had it out for about 8 years now. I did get a stretch mark between my belly button and the piercing with my DD and that seemed to be a commonality among the women on my BMB.
    First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09
    Then came a miscarriage March '11
    Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12

    Waiting on our second little peanut!

    Maybe its because I've only had it for two years, but that still seemed to me like long enough for it not to do that! I wouldn't mind stretch marks Bc I feel like that would be out of my control anyway, I just don't know if the hole will still stretch out if it's starting to close up

    We just had a thread on belly rings that if you search might be useful.

    My advice is buy a plastic belly ring. You can leave it in the entire pregnancy and it is not supposed to irritate it.

    I tried looking through it and couldn't Seem to find anyone with a similar problem. If I kept it in that was gonna be what I would do, kinda wishing I did now bc I can't get it in at all now /:

    I had hoped mine would close up. I think I'm stuck with the damn thing for life. I removed it for the first pregnancy and nothing happened. It didn't close, didn't stretch, nada. Second pregnancy I just never bothered to take it out until the month before I delivered. Not sure what I'll do this time. I have always put it back simply because its odd having a hole there. I'm one of the lucky few that don't get stretch marks (or haven't as of yet but my mom didn't either) so no, the belly ring hole didn't stretch or give me any kind of stretch marks.

    I had mine pierced when I was 16 but removed it at least 9 years ago. It's closed up but you can still see where the piercing was. It's sort of sad looking.

    I just took mine out in July when I had a laparoscopy for my endometriosis. Then I got stuck leaving it out because my incision was just too sore for me to get it back in before the bottom hole closed up. Now the top hole is still open and I am nervous it is going to get all funky during pregnancy...I guess I'll find out. And I've had the piercing since I was 17 (I am 26 now)...you would think that would have been long enough that half of it wouldn't have closed so fast, ugh.

    Mine never closed. However my skin steched over the piercing and looks a bit odd in that spot now. :-(
