GTKY: The Love/Hate Post

1) What do you LOVE about pregnancy?

2) What do you HATE about pregnancy?

  • Hate: I can't sleep, I feel like I can feel my skin stretching (ouch and ew, but no stretch marks..yet), and not being able to do my job!
I was having bad stretching pains the other day. I had to butter my belly up like a loaf of bread to stop with stretchy/itchy feeling!
  • Love: baby bumps and maternity clothes-I feel more stylish when pregnant, the kicks and movement- even when baby is way up in your ribs pushing with his/her feet, it's still cool BOOBS- need I say more?

Hate: the nausea, fatigue, and constipation, how nut-so my mom gets the closer to time of baby's arrival, and waiting for baby's arrival. I'm pretty sure I would still be pregnant with DD if I didn't get induced. I work a 10 hour shift the day of my induction and honestly felt no different than any other day. I'm nervous about actually going into labor this time because I have no idea what to expect.

  • 1) What do you LOVE about pregnancy? The baby bump. I've struggled with weight/self imagine all my life. But when I am pregnant I love and embrace my body. Oh and I love the nesting instinct. It makes me get shit done around my house.

    2) What do you HATE about pregnancy? The itching. The weakened immune system/millions of colds, the hip pains, being extra exhausted.

  • I love: the kicks! The boobs! The idea that a little baby will be here so soon! Getting away with eating everything!

I hate: my mood swings! Battling being self conscious!

I feel lucky that the good quickly outweighed the bad and fears. :) yay for babies!

  • 2) What do you HATE about pregnancy? Not feeling good. Getting treated like I am a fragile snowflake. <- I HATE THAT.
YES. So aggravating. Pregnancy is NOT a handicap.
  • LOVE
    - Knowing there's a little person in there that's 1/2 me and 1/2 H - how cool!
    - Feeling her move
    - Looking forward to seeing H as a dad
    - The excuse it gives me for pretty much anything

    HATE
    - Not being able to drink
    - The changes in my body - I worked so hard to lose 30 lbs about 3.5 years ago and I hate seeing that weight come back on and feeling out of control.  A lot of it is my fault, as I know I could be trying a lot harder to stay healthy than I have been.
    - My ginormous boobs.  Holy hell, these things are out of control!
    - Feeling like my body isn't my own

  • 1. I love that I now look pregnant and not just fat! I also love knowing that we have created a teeny tiny person that we get to meet in May.

    2. I hate being told constantly not to do things because I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant FFS not dying! Backache is a bitch too!
  • Love: Having my 3 year old rub my belly and talk to his baby sister

Hate: That my ass seems to be growing at the same rate as my belly this time.

  • Love:
The fact that I was able to get pregnant
Feeling the baby in a little ball
I just found out we are having a girl so I will love the shopping part. Yes I know the baby shower lalala, but I have had some miserable points in my pregnancy, so I'm going to do some enjoyable shopping.

    Hate:

Hot flashes, lack of sleep, heartburn, hip and back pain that keeps me from sleeping, being limited in Zumba, cramps that last for two hours(like round ligament pain that just hangs out), not being able to cook because of the smell of raw meat, being grossed out by sex.... There's more, but I'll spare you all!
  • 1.  I love the connection to my little one, feeling it move.

    2.  I hate.... hmm... this could be a long list.   Gaining weight, back pain, random stomach pains, morning sickness, headaches, swelling, complications, not being able to move around like when non-pregnant, etc. Ha.

I am not that happy of a pregnant woman.

    LOVE:
--how nice people are to me
--how un-self-conscious I am about my body for once
--how easy it is to take care of baby (vs. taking care of my outside babies)
--how lucky I am to carry my own and be healthy
--the timing of this pregnancy with holidays and my birthday (yay food)
--feeling that the baby is more mine than anyone else's ( I don't mean that in a bad way; I just like having her to myself for the first nine months.)

    HATE:
    --I miss caffeine.
    --I miss my non-pregnancy brain.
--No one has a filter around pregnant women.

I agree with the being un-self conscious about your body, I feel the same.

    LOVE-

Feeling the babies little flutters and realizing there really is a little human in there and this little human didn't exist a few weeks ago and that is just amazing to me.

When I saw the profile of the baby a few weeks back at an ultrasound it looked like my husband and I burst into happy tears because it was a realization of "we made that!" and I have never experienced anything like it before.

How my love for my husband has grown deeper as we are taking this journey together. I know its cheesy but he is my best friend and I am so excited he is by my side.

Really embracing my new body and bump

    HATE-

How much my nipples have been hurting

Not getting to workout as intense as I have wanted to and really trying to not beat myself up about it.

I had sciatica from a weight lifting injury before I was pregnant and now at 17 weeks its already flaring up really bad and that is scaring me for when the baby is actually bigger, how am I going to manage that pain!

How bad and scary the first trimester was. I was very depressed and had a lot of emotions going through me and I didn't like who I was during that time.

  • Love: feeling the baby move, seeing DH's face light up when baby kicks or we see him on the US, seeing baby on US which isn't often, and the bigger non-deflated boobs.

Hate: sickness, insomnia, not being able to drink, not being able to take Advil, everyone asking if I need something (I know it's them being nice, but I'm not disabled).

    - feeling baby move (tell they become for real kicks that hurt lol)

This is the second time I've seen this worry on this board, and I know it can happen, but I have to say that neither of my babies' kicks ever really hurt.  DD2's heel was pointy and a bit uncomfortable because she'd just hang out with her heel in the same darn spot all the TIME, but there was nothing like the "rib-breaking" kicks I'd heard horror stories about.  Just to calm those worries a bit!

  • Love: the bump, the kicks and movment, the ultrasounds, the end result.

Hate: umm... basically everything else. Pregnancy and I do not get along. Terrible ms, hemmeroids, constipation, just constant aches and pains, no energy. Ugh.
  • 1) What do you LOVE about pregnancy? Feeling the baby move, the bump, having an excuse to eat what I want, bigger boobs

    2) What do you HATE about pregnancy? Back pain, feeling like I cannot move around freely, lightning crotch (towards the end), watching my ass expand

  • I loved pregnancy at 16 and at 24 everything was amazing I hated nothing.

I hate pregnancy in my 30's I have yet to have a this is amazing feeling. I am thankful for the pregnancies but my body seems to wave a white flag from week 6 to week 39.

  • I love that a sweet little baby will come out of me at the end :)

I love when I finally pop and look pregnant.

I dislike the HEG I've had, made it pretty miserable

I dislike labor pains and pushing it out

That's about it! I'm pretty laid back and I can roll with many punches. Im just happy to be having another one- and when it comes out and it's healthy and I can hold him and he's mine- I'll breath a sigh of relief and be all the way content.
  • Love: Feeling baby move

    Hate: PGAL brain, nausea

  • I forgot one for the hate category:

    Peeing in my pants!!

Last time every bad cough, every sneeze... I'd release some pee. I started wearing (tmi alert) those giant poise pads! Puking was then worst. I completely peed my pants, noticeably, after loudly puking in a Waffle House bathroom on Thanksgiving Day last pregnancy!
  • Love: resting my hand on my bump and picturing my sweet LO, when I finally start to look pregnant instead of bloated, the excitement and anticipation of my baby's arrival (including the little things like looking at baby clothes, nursery ideas).  Apart from 1st trimester, I do generally love being pregnant.

Hate: worrying about my baby's health (especially now with PgAL brain), sleeping like crap (I'm a stomach sleeper and miss it so badly!), and heartburn/reflux!
  • 1) LOVE - DD hugging my bump and saying 'baby' just makes me melt! Also, getting the nursery together.

    2) HATE - Lack of beer in my life and constipation :((
