Ingrown Toenail

My poor DS has an ingrown toenail on his big toe and for the life of me I cannot get it to go away. I've been soaking it on and off in salt water for two weeks now and it will start looking better, then next day worse again. Any tips from you experienced ladies? I feel like an idiot because I can't cure this

    @Leskay that's very interesting, they didn't have to remove the toenail did they?

    Just letting you know I brought it up at his 4 month app today and they said to just keep doing what I'm doing, and prescribed me an ointment for him :) they said it's bearly pink and not to worry :)

    Mine has had one and it comes and goes, doesn't bother him so I just keep an eye on it. I've noticed it got worse when i would put him in footed pjs that were snug when he stretched out, I give him a break and do socks and pants for a bit.
