Make me feel better about milestones. I know you shouldn't compare, but it's hard not to!
DS is 3 months today and when we do tummy time, he doesn't even do a mini-pushup yet. I know lots of babies younger who are rolling from stomach to back, lifting chest off ground and holding head up, etc.
I'm afraid it's because we don't do enough tummy time. He is getting better head control when I sit him up and hold him upright. He is tracking toys and sounds with his head. He is doing lots of leg lifts on his back so that's good! I'm just worried about the lack of progress with pushing up or doing anything on his stomach.
I just want to hear from others whose kids are the same so I don't feel so behind!! Or from mom's who have kids who were late bloomers on the rolling/pushup front and it wasn't the end of the world :0)
ETA: I say "underachievers" in jest. I know that no baby is really an underachiever and they all do things in their own time and that's not a bad thing.
Re: Calling all underachievers!
My lo will be three months next week and only rolls over if he is screaming mad because he hates tummy time.
If he is tracking sights and sounds then I think you are all good. Milestones are just guidelines. Some babies will do them quicker, some slower, and some "right on time".
A pediatrician at our practice told me we should be doing tummy time 45 minutes at a time several times a day. I am only with the kid awake for 4-5 hours a day so we are not able to hit that mark. I have found my little nugget does keep progressing with more practice.

DD is only 7 weeks and doesn't do so great at tummy time on the floor or on our chests. She hates both. I do hold her upright over my shoulder though and she has really great head control that way. I just need her to work on using her arms to hold herself up. We try and get in 15 minutes a day. I will let her fuss during tummy time...because otherwise we would get no time in...but as soon as she starts actually crying I stop. I find if I let her go too long being upset, the rest of the day she will start screaming instantly during tummy time.
FWIW, now DS1 is way ahead of the curve on physical milestones. I wouldn't worry at this point because things are changing so rapidly for our babies. A day seems like a long time to an adult, but for babies there is a ton of growing that happens in a day. One day you will look at your baby and say, wow when did you start doing that?!
