ECV?

Has anyone had an ECV?  I went to my 34 week appointment this morning and the baby has turned from his perfect head down position to head up.  :(  They confirmed with an ultrasound and advised me to try downward dog and to google yoga positions for turning babies (seriously, that was the suggestion).  We're going to recheck at my 36 week appointment and then potentially do an ECV the next day.  I'm trying not to stress out about this...

Re: ECV?

  • There are definitely a couple of people on here who have had successful versions.

  • Yeah, I remember a few people posting about versions but searching for "version" yields some really random results.

  • Yes. Do those exercises. Google how to turn a baby, plenty of experiences to do.

I just made an appt for the 29th with a chiropractor for adjustments and hopefully that'll work. Otherwise a version it is for me.

I think there were 2 successful versions in the past week though.

  • Are you using the search at the bottom of the page or the one on the side?  I find it gives much different results.  If you search using the magnifying glass at the bottom of the page, you will find the most recent discussions on this board only that use the word "version"

  • Spinningbabies.com has a lot of good resources. Good luck!
  • @Mrs_Bennett - thanks!
@peggels24 - I tried both.  This is what I got for the one on the bottom: https://forums.thebump.com/search?Search=version&CategoryID=18492464.  A topic about spam from 2013, pumping tips from 2014, troll in 2015, wedding horror stories from 2015 but no version topics.

  • I had a version on Thursday. I was 37 weeks and it was successful. It was painful but worth it. I shared my experience and it is down a few pages :)
  • Thanks @tripletoe - I just found your post and read through it.  I'm glad yours was successful, although painful.  Fingers crossed that @LaBellaVida and I can exercise the babies into position but it's good to know that yours worked.  :)

  • I had one Monday, we may have enough people to have a little check in now :), mine was also successful though very painful, but totally worth it for me. There is another thread that triple toe started my name is the subject we talked a little about them there too. I tried a lot of laying upside on my ironin board leaned against the couch and what not. If the version didn't work I was going to try a chiropractor find one that specializes in the Webster method if you go that route. I have an ultrasound tomorrow crossing my fingers he's still doen but I really think he still is :). Good luck we are here if you have questions!

  • I had a successful version two days ago for a footling breech with the cord wrapped around his neck twice.  (no wonder he couldn't move and the exercises I tried didn't work)  I was blessed to have it go very smoothly.  The procedure was uncomfortable but not bad and the soreness the next day was honestly worse than the procedure (likely because I've already had twins so my uterus was not hard to manipulate).  I'm now 37 weeks and just hoping he stays head down.  Best of luck to you!!
