Legitimate brag is that he's been extra sweet with his brother lately and brought me a Q-tip when I pretended to find potatoes growing in the baby's ears.

Our school is going to be celebrating 100 days of school next month and DS's mainstream kindergarten class has been working on writing numbers.

Mainstream teacher wrote yesterday that DS worked at a center and made it to 37 all by himself! I think that is the highest he has worked on for the few times they did that same activity! He got a sticker!

DD1 was invited to a birthday party for one of the girls in her class last Sunday. It was a Lasertag party, so I wasn't sure how she'd do since it didn't involve princesses or being fancy. She loved it! She had a great time, no anxiety meltdowns, and she won a huge stuffed animal from the claw game in the arcade area (go fine motor!).

DS grabbed my hand to walk out of the psychologist's office today. I'm normally forcing him to hold my hand and partially dragging him. That was really cool.

Also, we made these felt button trees. I didn't know if he would understand how to put the buttons where the glue drops were, but he did without much direction (however after putting them on, he wanted to take all the buttons off and repeat the process). He brought me the glue to make more, so everyone's getting one this year.

We had our playgroup Christmas party this morning and DD did so great.

She participated in the craft (paper gingerbread man decorating), played the game (musical freeze game), interacted with the other kids pretty well including helping one of the kids build a tower with the blocks and sharing a toy with another kid who was upset and wanted to play she gave it to him and said 'your turn'.

So pretty awesome morning here!

Lucas fell down the stairs yesterday (nothing too serious) but he was crying up a storm. A very concerned faced Christopher says "it's ok Lucas" trying to comfort him.

I couldn't help it, as soon as Lucas had calmed down, I swooped Christopher into a great big hug and thanked him for being so nice to his brother.

Ive only got a personal victory...

I've kept my cool this entire week with both kids and husband!

I have also somehow kept the household in reasonable order, financially and physically in spite of the crazy holiday happenings.

DS' is also having a particually hard week emotionally (meltdowns galore), but I have somehow kept calm and steady through his storm - which seems to anchor him quicker than if I had jumped onto the cray cray train

I just ordered pizza and the delivery guy knocked on the door. DS went running to the door to see who was there.

He said"pizza!" Which is funny because he has a limited amount of foods he will eat and pizza is not one

He went up to the guy and pointed and said what's his name?" I said I didn't know and he walked up closer to the guy and said "what have you name?"

The guy told him his name and asked DS what his name was. DS smiled, said his name.

DS has a significant receptive delay so it was awesome to see him realizing names are important and what's even better is that the interaction looked pretty NT.

DS1 has been getting up a little later, when he sleeps through the night. 6:30 is way better than 5:50 or 6:00 AM. He also eats fish sticks, chicken nuggets, and applesauce now!

When I tell DS1 to pick up his feet when he walks so he can get a pouch, he does. I'm rolling my eyes that I even have to type this sentence.... A few weeks ago, he began dragging his right foot when he walks. On the sidewalk. In his NEW shoes. That shoe is falling apart in the toe area. I was so irritated. So now when we leave school, I tell him to pick up his feet and he'll get a pouch. I'm not buying him new shoes until this phase ends. Ugh.

I do! The other day DS1 came into the room, after getting up, and said, "Watch out monsters, I'm going to bed." ??? That one went in the log. It was hilarious.

I'm sending out birthday invitations this week. Fingers crossed that we get a decent response, but I'm not inviting the whole class this year, DD1 is picking a few friends -- and they do seem to be kids that she has good relationships with. So yay for actually having friends to invite!

Despite my post about yesterday, in X's latest eval 6 months in, he got "good" progress in PT versus "steady" progress after the first 3 months.

Also, this year my boys asked to have their own birthday parties for the first time, and X has 5 friends of his own that he wants to invite to his party!
