Just have to share (little long)...

So yesterday I posted in Mondays weekly thread that my rings had been stolen this past weekend. It was so upsetting since it has my grandmothers diamond as my biggest one. Well today a detective and myself talked off and on all day. Finally, the third phone call he had some news. They found my rings! The guy went and pawned them last night right at closing time, the lady remembered us calling over the weekend and the picture the police issued. She was able to talk him down to only $50 since she knew they were stolen.
He took the money and left, he just needed quick cash. Police also caught him on video at another home and like an idiot he put a speeding ticket of his in one of the purses he took and threw it in the woods right near the house that he stole it from. Between those two and mine they finally had enough evidence to bring him in. They issued a warrant to search his home and for his arrest. He wasn't home when they went to search so needless to say... they let themselves in. Not even an hour later I got a text from a family friend who also happens to live next to him that the police had got him! They were told to contact the police if they saw him, so when her dad saw him come home he called them. They were able to, so far, tie him into 3 out of 4 robberies.
My purse is still missing along with the spare key to my car, but I am just so ecstatic that my rings are in safe hands. The detective wanted to hold them for evidence but eventually decided against it. He said it would have been a pain to get them out and possibly it would be a while before I would get them back, so I'm meeting him at the station tomorrow to get them.
