I'm sure that this is not appropriate per se, but every time I hear queens lover boy I think of my LO. Probably because every time I see him I say or think my little Lovey boy. I love to sing that song with those lyrics.
I sing Nat King Cole's Smile to LO every time he has trouble falling asleep or is fussy. That and Jenny Jenkins by Lisa Loeb...since we have so much fun getting dressed!
Egg Retrieval - Feb. 2013 -> OHSS. FET#1 - June 2013(failed). FET#2 - October 2013(success!)
Griffin Alistair: 6#10oz 20" long, born 6/19/14 @ 4:04am
The Hot Dog Song is his favorite, but he also gets really happy and smiley when I sing "Lovely Day' by Bill Withers to him. That song reminds me of him, too.
I don't know if he likes it or not, but he gets a lot of "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid, and it seems to put him to sleep. I have been singing it to him since he was a newborn because it was the only song lyrics I could remember.
My Immortal by Evanescence is what I sing when rocking him to sleep. I sang it to DS as well and even now at 2 years old, he still gets really calm when he hears me singing it to B.
B also really enjoys Pink Floyd when we are in the car and he's fussy.
but mostly I sing made up songs about his name.
eta the Canadian Tenors version of Hallelujah is also a huge hit. I listened to it on repeat during both of my pregnancies so maybe that's why.
My family has always hummed/sang "Rock of Ages Cleft for Me" to babies. I have no idea why since it is usually sung at funerals but 9 times out of 10 if he is fussy and I start humming it he will quiet down. "The First Time Ever I saw Your Face" as well as "To Make You Feel My Love" are two songs that make me think of LO.
Henry is a big fan of me singing the ABC's and Row, row, row your boat. In the car he loves country music. The song that reminds me of him is by Taylor Swift and the lyrics go, "Oooh darlin, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up, just stay this little..."
Ours is Wiggle by Jason Derulo. DH and I heard this on the way to the hospital to have Everett and thought it was the weridest song ever - so of course it was stuck in my head for the next two days while I was in labor. I remember signing it to myself to help get through the contractions. Now I sing it to Everett and dance/help him dance and he thinks it is hilarious. Not sure if it is the most appropriate song but...
ETA he also loves Raffi's Brush Your Teeth song which I remember from when I was little. He loves the part where you sing "you brush your teeth - ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch". Always makes him crack up.
We are a giant family of weirdos... We like to come up with nicknames and then a stupid word that rhymes but makes no sense... So, from early on, we have called DD Peanut Cheanut (see, makes no sense). Then, one day during a growth spurt with a lot of crying and nursing, I picked her up dancing and singing "Peanut, Peanut, Cheanut, Peanut, Peanut, Cheanut" To the rhythm of the music at the beginning of Jessie's Girl. Calmed her down instantly. It stuck, and now DH does it, too. Family full of weirdos, I say!

Made up songs are always a big hit, too.
We love to sing Part of Your World too! It comes on Disney Pandora all the time and E loves when I belt it out to him!
She loves Barbara Ann, the oompah loompah song, how much is that doggy in the window, the I love you song from bye bye birdie, Beyonce love on top, and S club 7 bring it all back.
Cotton Fields by CCR. We are major classic/Southern rock fans and I can't stand children's music. Sorry babe, we can listen to children's music when you're old enough to ask for it, but hopefully by then you'll like what we play for you!
I think the songs that best fit her personality are Happy and Wild Thing. She is such a happy, fun baby, but can be SO. WILD. The songs we sing to her most are Little Jon "Shots" and Sesame Street theme song and "Move your body."
Same for my DD. Also, she dances like crazy to 'All About that Bass'
My DS is aaaalll about dat bass. It's the only song that will settle him down haha. I love changing the words during different times of the day. Bath time is "All about that bath, with bubbles." and "Every inch of you is soapy from the bottom to the top."
DS loves most music. All of Me by John Legend and Treasure by Bruno Mars are his favorites. He will stop what he is doing and lay quietly. I listened to them when I was pregnant and he would kick up a storm.
Ever since she was born I would sing the most beautiful girl in the world by prince. Well the course part. Now her favorite is twinkle twinkle and santa baby.
@lest12 My go-to song is Part of Your World too! Also because it was the only song that I could remember all the lyrics. Look at this stuff... Isn't it neat?...
With Christmas, I've been doing Christmas tunes. Mostly silent night. Another great slow sleepy Christmas song is "Still Still Still".
She LOVES the Hot Dog Song. DH says there's some sort of subliminal thing going on to make all the kids freak on it LOL.
@puttyeast I've been singing/humming Silent Night to put her to bed this month. Soothes her right away!
Her main song though is Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty. She has an elephant my mom gave her that plays the song and we've used it to soothe her since coming home from hospital. SB was my favorite movie growing up, so my mom figured it would be a good song for her.

I sing Gaslight Anthem's Blue Jeans and White T-shirts, only I made a DD version up called Blue Jeans and White Onsies.
Really, though, it's the theme to Curious George (the TV show) that has her attention. Drops whatever toy she is eating until it stops.
