Going off of clomid

Hi all. I have been on and off of clomid for 6 months. I had an ectopic in September and before that had been on two cycles then starting in October I started it again and just finished up my second cycle again with another BFN. I have decided to go off of the clomid this month and my dr. said it would be ok. I just want to give my body a chance to get pregnant naturally before we start any more intense treatments because next time on clomid I would be up to 200mg. My question is, has anyone had luck getting pregnant after going off of clomid? I have always wondered if I have trouble ovulating and when we started trying my doctor immediately put me on clomid so I am anxious to see what happens this cycle. thanks!

    I have not but a good IRL friend has. She was on it with an OB for many months, went off, started seeing an RE who told he he would not medicate her again without going to IVF and the cycle before they started with the new dr she got pregnant on her own. Her next pregnancy 18 months later was twins, again off clomid. It does happen.

    I don't have much to offer, just want to say that I'm in a similar boat as you.  I had an ectopic a year ago and since then hasn't gotten pregnant again.  In September went on clomid, was on it for 3 months with no results except for thinning of the uterine lining.  So got off it in December and we decided to give it a few more months of trying naturally before proceeding with other treatments.  Good luck!
    I married my best friend 6/24/07. Started TTC. Ectopic pregnancy found at 6 wks 5 d.(methotrexate shot on 11/21/07). 1st IUI (natural/August '09) - bfn; 2nd IUI (w/ gonal-f) - bfn 3rd IUI (w/ gonal-f) - bfn 4th IUI - cancelled due to too many follicles Laparoscopy 1/10 - endo found 5th IUI (w/ follistism) - bfn 6th IUI (w/ follistism) - bfn Taking a break b/f starting ivf June - IVF - failed December - IFV#2 - failed Trying naturally again for now

    I got pregnant on a break cycle, after 2 consecutive cycles of Clomid (I had 5 total).  It does stay in your system, so there is a chance you will ovulate.  If you're not sure when you do, I would highly recommend OPKs or CBEFM (even though that will take a couple of cycles to really work).  Trust me, it is possible!!!!

    Hey good luck to you too. Thanks for responding, sometimes I feel lost because of my friends I am the only one trying so it's hard to explain how I feel and people understand what I am going through. Hope 2009 is a great year!

    I saw this post and wanted to ask a clomid question since you all are clomid users.  I have used clomid off and on over the past 2 years when doing IUI or medicated TI cycles.  I always had hot flashes the entire time I was on it, but this round I am having hot flashes 8 days into my next med free cycle.  Have any of you ever experienced that on your off clomid cycles?
