Re: ***Weight-Loss Check In***

  • I have a wedding date set and hope this will kick my ass into gear to lose about 10 pounds (I have until February 19!). I recently bought a fold up stationary bike and will start biking while I watch TV today and I started a 31 day squat challenge. I also downloaded a 7 minute workout app and hope to do the 7 minute work out 3 times a week. I've also decided to TRY (try only, not commitment) to stop drinking alcohol after New Years Eve.

QOTW: I'm going to try my hardest to not drink alcohol until my wedding!

Hi ladies, I'm new to this check-in but this is great timing!

    1. What are your weight loss goals? -- I don't have a number in mind (160s would be great though), but I haven't been paying attention to what I'm eating and I feel awful. I'm just trying to make better choices. ETA: I weighed myself yesterday and was at 190.8.
    2. What are you doing to loss weight? -- Trying not to eat anything processed, and trying to portion control. Attending boot camp 3x a week, and anything else on top of that is awesome.
    3. Any tips, recipes or workout information would be great. I am obsessed with the Nature Valley High Protein Honey oat Granola. I have been having 1/2cup granola on top of 1/2cup plain yogurt with 1cup of blackberries for breakfast the past few days.

QOTW: Will you start a "work out" program after the holidays? If so, what will you start? Will you go on a diet after the holidays? If so, share away! I am probably going to challenge myself to go to a BodySculpt or TRX class at my YMCA every day during the month of January. I know the gym will be super crowded, but I really like the idea that I will be one of many people who have no idea what the fuck they are doing!

@lindy04aggie‌ I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Hopefully your PT therapist can help you figure out which exercise is best for you!

@Tiko99‌ you can definitely lose 10lbs by February! Get it girl.

@rainbowbridge14‌ I am trying to get back to tracking in MFP! I love hitting that "done" button at the end of the day!

  • @rainbowbridge14-Finals week suck. I too have been stuck in them and not finding time for exercise as much as I normally do. Good luck getting back on track!!!

@tiko99-Congrats on setting a date! Nothing like a wedding to get you motivated! J

@lindy04aggie-Holidays are soooo hard. For me the hardest part is going back home where they have bad for you food in their house (we don’t because then we eat all the bad for you food). Happy early birthday! You got this!

    @virginiaorjohn-Welcome and good luck!!!

AFM: Stayed at the same weight this week. I can tell I slacked last week on eating/tracking and working out. Hitting it hard this week!

QOTW: I have been doing Piyo, which is a yoga/Pilates program and after the holidays I want to start 21 day fix again. No diet after the holidays, just doing better sticking to clean eating every week, not just the ones I run challenge groups for (I have gotten into a bad habit!)

  • Hi! Can I join too?

    1. What are your weight loss goals?
I have been unsuccessfully trying to lose weight for a year and a half now! I want to lose 15 lbs.
    2. What are you doing to loss weight?
DH and I just started the ketogenic diet, and after about two weeks all I want is bread! I do feel good, and have lost maybe a pound... so I will keep at it!!
    3. Any tips, recipes or workout information would be great.
I have found lots of yummy things on pinterest, but my latest was zucchini pasta with a cauliflower Alfredo sauce! I got a vegetti from BB&B, and used a zucchini with it. Then I roasted some cauliflower, added cheese, garlic, and a little almond milk and blended it until it was creamy. So yummy! I barely even missed the real noodles!

1: Weight loss goals: Just be healthy. Shaving off at least ten pounds would be nice but I just want to feel good.
2: Losing weight: Trying to exercise everday and eat my greens.
    3. like @MissSally25 says I am a pinterest fiend. I love pinterest and go on there to get inspiration.

  • I've been working out every day for a week, even if a couple of the days it was just calisthenics. I've also been keeping up on the squat challenge! After the new year, it's Paleo or bust for me. Seems like a good New Year's resolution. I'm going to make an exception for my morning latte (made at home with organic whole milk), and the occasional treat of rice or peanut butter. I have a lot of rice I don't want to waste so I will go through that slowly.
