Death in the family

My younger brother passed away unexpectantly lastnight and I am so over come with emotion. I'm so upset. At the same time I am very worried about my baby. I will be 32 weeks Friday. I have my two week drs appt this afternoon, I just wanted to ask you ladies if anyone of you have gone through a terrible event like this while pregnant and if your baby was delievered healthy. Thank you

    I'm so sorry, best wishes to you and your family during this difficult time. Constant stress can have an effect on the baby but an instance of stress or grieving shouldn't hurt your little one.

    I'm so sorry for your loss :( Your baby should be fine, but make sure to take care of you.  It can be hard to think about that during a time like this.

    I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a sibling is absolutely devastating. Take care of yourself and don't hesitate to ask for help, whether it be physical support or emotional support.

    Oh, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. You and your family are in my T&Ps.

    My grandma passed away when I was 28 weeks (I am now 31). I was getting pains and I did not want to eat. It was (and still is) very hard emotionally. The only thing I can tell you is take it a day at a time. And please, please take care of yourself and your baby.

    O sweetheart. I'm so sorry. Your baby will be fine but if your worried ask for extra checks from your MW. Talk to her about how u feel, it's important to talk about this with someone u can trust and can help u. I really I'm sorry. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    When I was pregnant with my first daughter I lost my grandma at 35 weeks and my grandpa at 37 weeks. We were very close with them and it was extremely hard on me and the end of my pregnancy... feel free to private message me if you would like. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you the best of luck in the remaining weeks of your pregnancy

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. My dad passed away right around the time this baby was conceived. I am still grieving for him, but my doctors have said that me crying over my dad isn't hurting the baby. If I feel like my emotions are overwhelming me at any point when I am feeling his loss, I just try to stop and think of all the positive times I had with him to avoid feeling stress from the situation.

    Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Lots of T&P's coming your way.

    First, I'm very sorry for your loss. I totally know what you are going through, although it was not my brother, it was my best friend's brother who killed himself on December first leaving behind his three month old daughter and fiance. My best friend's wife is pregnant also, but only four months. She was put on bed rest. My baby is very very healthy even though I have gone through a lot of stress and trauma during my pregnancy beyond Kory's death. Trust that your baby is ok but if you think that there are any problems its ok to call your doctor or go to L&D to be monitored.

    daniellejolley, so sorry for your loss!  I also lost my brother suddenly about 5 years ago; while I wasn't pregnant at the time, I do remember the grief and sorrow.  Please talk to your doctor and follow their advice, focus on what you and baby need most.  Cry, sleep, talk to someone, write in a journal, whatever.  Take it one day at a time, and know that in time the grief will fade.  (((HUGS)))
