Preeclampsia in second pregnancy?

I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia at 32+4 in my last pregnancy and ended up having to deliver my daughter at 33 weeks because the protien in my urine was rising so quickly. I also had super high blood pressure. My daughter is almost 14 months now. I'm currently 17+2 with our second daughter and I'm so afraid of getting preeclampsia again and even more nervous for it to come sooner than my last pregnancy. Any momma's that have had it in a first pregnancy and not in others? Or any that did? I guess i'd just love to hear others experiences...good or bad.. i was not prepared last time because it all happend very quick and my goal is to be as prepared as possible this time. Thanks in advance!

    My first pregnancy I had it. I went into pre term labor at 7 months and discovered she quit growing at 6 months because of it. Over seven years later I became pregnant again and told my new doctor all about it so it wouldn't be over looked again. He ignored my concerns and told me I was fine throughout the pregnancy. At 35 weeks I had to have an emergency c section because it was so bad. Now four years after that I'm pregnant and have a new great doctor. I have a nurse come to my house now once a week to check for swelling, hbp, and to give me shots to keep from going into pre term labor. Basically everything she has ordered are things my previous doctor should have done.

    Also, swelling of the face is a huge sign of pre e. Pain on your upper right side below the ribs is a sign of your liver failing because your bp is so high.

    What was your first pregnancy experience.. I have just been diagnosed. My bloods are getting worse and I'm concerned.

    I was induced with #1 because of pre-eclampsia. I did not have pre-e with #2, but I did have gestational hypertension. Hang in there!
