Pre Appointment Anxiety

I have an appointment tomorrow. I am so nervous I didn't sleep last night and am barely holding it together at work. 2 weeks ago the baby had a hb of 89 and was measuring 6 weeks when based on my dates I should have been 8. I also had a SCH. I have not had any spotting and have followed the pelvic bed rest orders. Still so nervous. How do you guys deal with anxiety?

    Sorry about your anxiety.

    Here are some things that work for me:  journalling, going for walks or just going out, listening to music, working out.  For sleep, if you can't sleep, don't just lie there in the dark - the negative thoughts will just spiral out of control.  Do something else like reading until you're tired and try again.  I also like to put a couple of drops of lavender essential oil on my pillow (will stain!).

    It's really hard and what works for one person might not work for the next.  I've had 2 early losses and 1 late loss at 20 weeks. From all of that I've learned that as long as you are following your physician's instruction .. you're doing everything you can do and some things are beyond our control.  So honestly I just pray. I'm not a super religious person but I know that I can't make myself miscarry.  If it's goign to happen.. it's going to happen as much as I don't want it to and as long as I'm doing what the doctor says I should be doing.. then I'm doing everything I can do to take care of my baby and myself.  

    it's SO hard.  I had an SCH with my daughter and I was treating with high risk at the time because it was my first pregnancy after my loss and they never told me to rest.  He just said that you might spot but that usually they resolve on their own.. and it did.  By the time I went back for another u/s.. it was gone.  I never spotted or anything. 

    But I know how hard it is.. our minds just wonder and worry.  Be kind to yourself.  Do what your doctor says.  And breathe.  good luck to you!! :)

    I hope everything goes well tomorrow.  I have to try to keep busy and like a PP said, follow your doctor's orders.  Good luck!  Keep us updated.
