I leave for a cruise in 19 days! Anyone been on a cruise while pregnant and have any tips? This is my 4th cruise with Carnival and I'm super excited to be getting somewhere warm :-)
Just got back from one on Carnival it sucked and just be aware if you are 25 weeks you can't sail. You also have to bring the letter signed by your dr or they won't allow you on either.
If you sign up at Carnival.com (if you want to cruise) they email you specials and they are so worth it! We are going to Mexico and Belize for a week and booked during a special and only paid 300 dollars a person.. that's food room everything included.. just need extra cash for whatever else you decide you want to I don't know how far along you are but my doctor told me now is the best time to go!
I went on a Carnival cruise in October for my honeymoon. I was 12-13 weeks pregnant. It wasn't any different to me than the Carnival cruise we went on last May.

I cruised at 21 weeks last pregnancy. It wasn't my first so and I had never had motion sickness on my previous cruises but being pregnant, wow motion sickness really kicked at moments. Bring a few of those Sea bands and hopefully you should be fine.
Also I'd bring some Clorox Wipes and some hand sanitizer just in case. MIL got a nasty case of Norovirus on her last cruise, I can't imagine being pregnant and catching it.
Cool thanks for the tips... motion sickness knock on wood hasn't gotten me previous cruises but I will be bringing sea bands just in case and lots of hand sani... I'm obsessed with washing my hands anyways LOL
I am seriously jealous right now. I have never been on a cruise. :-S I have always wanted to go on a cruise but the chance has not presented itself yet. It is definitely on my bucket list.
My hubby has something against cruises and I've always wanted to go on one We're not "beach vacation" type of people, so I think he feels like they are pretty much the same.
I took the Carnival Breeze in sept i was 10 weeks pregnant. aside from not drinking i had a great time. took the sea bands just in case but was fine. Ive been to belize on another cruise i didnt like it. the ship cant dock so they stop 4 miles away from shore and you have to tender to land which i beleive takes 30 mins. i did not enjoy that i would probably never go on cruise that stops in belize again. have fun and eat a ton! I ate so much i dont remember feeling hungry the whole cruise lol
My parents were telling me something about not actually being able to dock in Belize and having to ride a boat or something to shore... and of course one of our stops is Belize so we will see how that goes. And of course I am super excited for all the delicious food hehehe

We went on a cave tubing excursion when we docked in Belize, and it was a ton of fun. I don't remember that having to ride the boat to and from the ship was that big of a deal.
@souptin I am with you on this one. I think that traveling is the best thing money can buy. Nothing compares to the experiences you get, this world is just way too amazing to not see it, feel it and enjoy it. I hope you change your mind someday @angi30 I'm sure you won't regret it. I would kill for some warm weather right now so I'm very jealous of your cruise. Have fun! @taylorboswell
I am SO jealous. I never thought I would be a cruise person. But my DH talked me into an Alaskan Cruise for our honeymoon. Best idea ever. We ate, we drank, we slept with our balcony door open every night. It was glorious. We had unseasonably warm weather. 3-4 days of 80*. We were planning for cold, rainy and 50*. Although we weren't packed for 80* it didn't really matter. We made it work. I would go back in a minute. The sea bands worked wonders for me. I've been on boats all my life but this was different. The Captain did say we were hitting an unusual amount of choppy waters so that was probably it. Not being able to drink would suck but I guess it would cut down on your bill at the end.
Enjoy yourself. Make sure you have that note from the doctor. Safe travels.
Am I the only person that hates to travel? We drive a couple hours to the beach each summer and that's more than enough for me
but...but...but what do you do for vacations then? how do you first hand experience other cultures? I truly dont understand people who dont like to travel (not sarcasm)...I mean I hate the "travel" part of it- who likes cramped airplanes or hours of car sitting? but getting somewhere new, seeing, tasting, smelling and experiencing new things outside of your norm is awesome and not something the internwebs or books can do for you.
I think it's because it's really hard for me to cope with change. I went to cancun for my 18th birthday and I seriously thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown because everything was so different there... The language, the food, the laws... Everything. Although I did enjoy being able to legally drink lol
FWIW, My DH struggles with travel too - the change in routine is hard on him. I find it exhilarating. I lived overseas and love the adventure. We've found that if he takes a Valium for the plane ride and we make sure he gets a good night sleep the first night, he relaxes and has a great time.
It's hard for me to have to cool my jets when we first arrive somewhere and I want to go out and explore. But this is a compromise that seems to really make a difference for us.
I am also jealous.... We went on a cruise for our honeymoon to Mexico, Belize, Honduras & Grand Cayman. We can't to have the opportunity to go on another cruise.
Definitely not for me. I was stationed on a ship in the military and I get very sea sick. I have no intention of EVER going on a cruise. Besides, I've seen the places, did the things, and to me at this point all the white sandy beaches look the same. Now... I could be convinced to go on one to Alaska... at least that's different. I'd risk throwing up for a week for that.
