Trouble TTC a Sibling

I think my body is broken...LP length ?

So most of you know that I just finished my first IUI cycle.  We got a BFN on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I am waiting for CD1 to arrive so we can move onto IVF.  I'm 17PO, getting BFNs so I know I'm not pregnant, but no AF.  Does clomid mess with the length of your LP?  My longest LP in the last 1.5 years was 15 days.  I'm on day 17 now.  I know for sure I'm not pregnant.  I would be able to turn a test by now. Because of all of the monitoring and IUI, I know when I ovulated.  I feel really bad for DH because he is really getting his hopes up.  No matter how many times I tell him, someone in his office told him that they didn't get a positive pregnancy test until their wife was a week late.  Poor guy still has his hopes up.  I'm afraid he will be really sad when AF does finally decide to show up. Has anyone had their LP increase with fertility meds?  I called my RE's office this morning and left a message just asking if this was normal, but I haven't heard anything back from them.  With this being Friday, I am sure they are really busy with patients who need to get ultrasounds and procedures done before the weekend, so I don't want to bug them too much.

Re: I think my body is broken...LP length ?

  • I just talked to the RE's office, and the nurse told me it's very common that the LP is lengthened due to a thicker uterine lining and the progesterone levels take longer to drop.

We were also planning on moving to IVF this next cycle, but the RE can't get us in for a consult and to start the birth control until the middle of January.  I don't want to just waste this next cycle, so we will be doing clomid, trigger and IUI one more time.  I'm a little bummed, but maybe we won't need the IVF.

  • CLomid did lengthen mine too one of the cycles.

Sorry about the BFNs and the having to wait for IVF...fingers crossed you don't need it!!
