She was on the phone with my grandmother the other day. Grandma said, "I love you." DD responded with, "I love you too." I think that's the first time I heard her say the whole phrase. It's usually just "love you."
After struggling for the past week with my sick kids I feel exhausted and frustrated. DD1 looked at me and said, "mama you are the best." It made me feel all warm and gooey.
We went to my nieces' dance recital last night and DS was enthralled. He got so excited whenever it was time to clap and then they danced to Shake it Off and he stood up and danced his ass off.
DS is 1DAF

Not my kid but my SIL who is 7 was with us this weekend. And we were doing an art project involving glitter, and she wanted to add even more glitter. Wifey goes "More glitter? Isn't there enough glitter?" and SIL puts on her very serious face and in her very serious voice goes "Soph, there are three things in this world you can never have a enough of. The first of course, is love. The second two......cookies and glitter".
I swear some days I wonder how she isn't biologically related to me.
1) I was jumping on the trampoline at my sister's house with DD, and DD joked, "Mommy, you have bird poop on your head." I said, "No I don't; you have bird poop on YOUR head." She said, and I swear I'm not making this up, "No I don't; the birds recognize me as their master."
I'm sure she must have gotten that phrase from a superhero show and doesn't really understand what it means, but it was hilarious that she happened to use it pretty appropriately.
2) This was actually horrifically embarrassing, so you can enjoy my pain. We were on the playground, and there was a baby standing at the top of the slide in front of DD (with her parents right there, of course). I was afraid DD would try to hug her and accidentally knock her down the slide, since she tends to try to hug babies, so I told her to be careful and don't touch her. She didn't hug her, but did stroke her arm, so I gave her a look.
To which she replied, "Whaaaaat? I didn't KILL her!"
Followed by a horrified "Ivy!" from me and silence from the parents. OMG, kid. OMG.
Fortunately the dad had a sense of humor about it, and after a beat, said, "You know, I don't think that's where we should put the line."
We were watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas this weekend (Jim Carrey version). During the part where the kids were teasing the Grinch, DD said "I have a tear in my eye because the kids are being so mean to the Grinch and he's so sad....but just a small tear."
<br>
Too bad she doesn't feel the same about her brother when he is sad.
DS is so excited about Christmas lights. It's freaking adorable. Whenever we get in the car, he starts asking to see lights. If we come up on a house and there's lights, he'll audibly gasp and go "lights! Santa lights! Christmas lights!" The gasping kills me every time.
E is like this too. "Mommy look at the beetiful trees! Oh mommy, that house is so pretty!" It's adorable. We're taking the girls to a drive through light display this weekend and she's going to lose her shit. I can't wait!
I was playing with the kids with a little toy spider "ack! Theres a spider get it!" & they'd laugh like crazy & go get it & bring it to me & I would wildly over react & toss it again....anyways, DD2 stuck it down my shirt & I started screaming "help me help me" & DS came running over & grabbed my hand & said so sweetly "i got you momma its ok i got you". Precious
LOL that everyone else's stories are super sweet, and mine are about my kid's references to baby murder and animal sorcery. She's what we call "quirky."
We were in church yesterday and it was a lay-led service so the speaker was introducing herself and said "Hello my name is XX" and A said very loudly "HI!" everyone in the service turned and chuckled and she got a huge kick out of it.

At a Breakfast with Santa yesterday, when the elf came over and greeted DS he responded by telling her "You look beautiful" in a very shy little voice. It was pretty adorable.
DD has learned to fake laugh (8.5 months old) and she will randomly break out in laughter. It's usually conveniently after someone finishes speaking and it's like she's laughing at whatever they just said.
Recently DD1 was talking with my mom. My mom asked her why she squeezes our cat so hard (this is an ongoing thing, she squeezes the life out of the cat) and she said "I just love her SO much!"
We were in a store the other day waiting in line to pay. DD#1 touches the ladies hand in front of her and says "I'm N and this is my mummy and I love her". I melted, the lady in front of me melted and the lady behind us melted. It was so sweet.
This one is old but I just thought about it because my coworker made chocolate covered pretzel rods.
When DD was 11 months old someone made choc rods for me. I left her in the middle of living room for floor time and went to the rest room. When I came back she had gone over to the side table taken out a rod and was going to town on my pretzel rod. I laughed and then ate it myself. Slobber and all.
C likes to comfort her little brother so she either surprises him, which he thinks is hysterical, or gets him toys. She might be a better mom than I am.
She also likes to re-enact her movies. I keep getting cast as the hero, so I get a lot of French kisses.
Santa came by our development on a fire truck yesterday. I took him to the side of the street to catch a glimpse of the fat man and he said "ooooh, hatta! hatta!" and proceeded to blow him kisses like he was Miss America
Happening now. Holland keeps on freaking out about bath time. So I got in with her tonight and she was super clingy until I realized she was asleep. Dying of the cute.
DS woke in the night and I went in to snuggle him. He placed a hand gently on my cheek and said 'I'm so glad you're here' and promptly sighed contentedly and fell back asleep.
Re: Tell me a cute thing your kid(s) have done.
I got ready for the day on Saturday and when I cam downstair DD said, "Mommy you're so pretty."
So sweet.
Also I love when she asks now are you sure Santa got my list?
Two things from Thanksgiving weekend:

DS has starting putting his hand on his face like Home Alone and saying "Oh no."
He does it for eveything.
"Time for bed bubba."
"Oh no."

My A has started doing this too but she is putting her hands over her ears for some reason. IDK why but it is so cute
