Baby Acne

I know it's normal for them to get baby acne, but I'm just curious how many LOs have it and if you do any natural remedies to help with it? How long did your LO have it if you're a STM?

I've read oatmeal paste and dabbling Breastmilk on it helps but I have also read just to leave it alone. Thoughts?

Yup my LO has acne in her face and scalp. We leave it alone and it goes away within days.

DS has it. I wipe his face every day with warm water but other than that I'm just leaving it alone.

My LO has it too...midwife says breastfed boys get it the worst because they're ingesting our female hormones. She says it'll go away on its own once baby's body adjusts but she said I could try coconut oil. Truthfully haven't tried it yet.
I know my midwife says breastmilk pretty much fixes everything but my LO has some acne on his chin which is covered by milk all the time and it's not clearing up....

Cam has it a bit just here and there though. I wash his face morning and night with a warm washcloth and it goes away pretty quickly.

Our boy twin has it (girl does not). It was worse the week after he was born but it has slowly gotten better. We didn't do anything special to it.

Yeah the Breastmilk didn't really do much to help it so I think I will just wash it with a warm wash cloth and leave it alone. Thanks for the input!

i've just been leaving it alone... my little girl didn't get any acne though until i gave her a bath with baby shampoo/wash... so i'm wondering if that was related or just coincidence...

My boys keep getting giant pimple/blisters. Levi had 1 on his neck and then 1 in the diaper area. Evan has gotten 2 in the exact same area of his diaper. They have been going away within a day or two. I was caught off guard the first time, because when it first showed up it looked like a regular large pimple, then the next diaper change it was twice as big.

Same here! I used California Baby extra sensitive wash though so I would be shocked if that caused it, but I guess it could have? Or maybe it was just coincidence...I am hoping it will start to clear up soon bc it looks awful

DS is almost a month old and still has it pretty bad. When I washed with CA Baby soap it seemed to get worse, so I'm just sticking with warm water and otherwise leaving it alone.

I thought CA Baby was supposed to be good?! Ugh. I did read that dabbing a cotton ball into warm water and gently putting it on the spots is a good method. I will give this a try.

anyone have any new ideas or updates on how to treat it? my little girl's acne is getting worse on her face... it doesn't seem to bother her but it's driving me crazy!

My LO's is almost gone after 2.5 weeks...just a few little ones now...I used Aveeno baby every other day and warm water during bath time and that didn't irritate it at all.

just an update, yesterday i started using california baby calendula cream on her face. it is already beginning to look better! we'll see if it heals it completely but i'm feeling very optimistic.

We use castille soap in her bath once/twice a week, and just water every other bath. Coconut oil every day. It's almost all gone!

Other than a good wipe down with water I have dabbed some breastmilk on it, as well as a scratch he gave himself & both are healing up faster than I anticipated!
