Hi Mamas! For those of you that didn't see the age based check in poll, people seemed on board with the idea of a weekly place where they could check in and compare notes with other moms with babies in the same age range. This will take the place of our old ticker change check in's. Enjoy!

Re: Weekly Check In for Babies Born 11/24-11/30
-N is two weeks tonight!
-She seems to be pretty normal.. waking every two hrs at night, cluster feeding from 8:30 to 11ish, sleep, feed around 1:30, sleep, cluster feed 4:30 to 7ish
We have a checkup tomorrow at 9. I wish I could AW a picture, but I'm forever stuck on mobile!
Sleeping 3 hour stretches at night. We have had 20-30 minutes of alert open eyes time for the past few days!
Eating well. The doctor said she is only slightly tongue tied, so a painful latch but is gaining weight.
@WildFlower810 my LOs stump also fell off early and then formed a new scab. It continues to bleed and scab. We asked the pediatrician and she said it was fine. We got gauze that is sticky on the sides just to keep the belly button from rubbing on her clothes. I think it is helping.
AW: here are some pictures
Sleeping: this one makes me super sad, but probably is the opposite answer from the rest of you. A had slight jaundice, and so she has always been sleepy. She's starting to give me a little bit more alert time, but she essentially sleeps all day. I have to physically wake her to feed - she's only asked for food twice in two weeks. She'd sleep all night if I let her
Eating: as I said above, I have to wake her for each feeding. Because of the residual jaundice, she wasn't ever able to identify when she was hungry. This is getting better, but I'll still wake her, and at times, she'll take nothing because she's too tired to latch. I still have to supplement a little each feeding, and I'm worried that the pumping is messing with my supply. Sheesh.
Milestones: these are hard, because she's so sleepy. But she's a pro-wiggler. She rolls from her back to her side then back, and to the other side. We had one roll during her limited awake tummy time where she went from tummy to back. And she loves lifting her head and looking around. But boy would it be nice to have more interaction time with her.
@willdflower my girl lost her cord and 3 days too, and yes, there are still days with crusty blood, but I've never seen any oozing. I'm sure it's fine, but asking the dr. won't hurt. Also, try the baby yoga video to get poop - worked like a charm last night!!
She has at least 6 poops a day.. there's almost always poop in her diaper when I change her.
My boobs are definitely feeling really soft, compared to pre-bf even, not to mention the engorgement stage. I haven't pumped since then, so idk what's going on. I just know her poops are sufficient.
Age: 2 weeks and 3 days
Sleeping: 2-3 hours during the day and at night with an hour to 2 hours of alert time in between during the day. She has slept for up to 5 hours though / including this afternoon. Two nights ago she was up all night!
Eating: every 2-3 hours. Waking up on her own. I don't wake her anymore. She has gone as long as 5 hours twice. I'm still using the nipple shield.
Milestone: she accidentally rolled herself over yesterday. She looked shocked.
Questions: I feel like I should try to wean her off the nipple shield so I don't have one more thing to carry around...but it's working well for us. Idk.
Also, any tips on getting her to sleep in the co sleeper/crib? Right now she will only sleep in her stroller.
Sleeping: We average anywhere between 3.5 and 4 hours per night although he recently did a 4.5 hour stretch. R sleeps in our room in a full size crib. We also swaddle him but he's starting to wriggle out. He loves stretching and often works his little hands out. Probably going to invest in the Halo swaddler so he can have his arms out. Last night he seemed frustrated with his normal one.
Eating: We FF 3oz every 3-4 hours. He's doing well with the formula. He has spit up a handful of times so we started feeding him more upright which helps. We also use the Playtex Vent Aire which has helped.
Questions: How long is everyone doing tummy time for? We average about 12-15 minutes before he starts to get cranky. Have you brought LO out in public yet? Besides going to the Pedi I mean?
-Sleeping: Usually 2 hrs during the day and I can get a 3-4 hr stretch most nights.
-Eating: Every 3 hrs usually. She will cluster feed at different times of the day.
-Milestones: Getting some good awake time, up to and hour and a half some times, but usually only twice day in the mornings and late afternoon/evening.
-Questions: nope, we're good
-AW: I have two boys, ages almost 4 and 1.5 years, and two daycare boys; so I'm changing little girl's diaper a few days ago and my oldest points to her umbilical cord stump and asks "Is that her penis?" I tell him "No, that's were her belly button will be." He then looks at me and says, "When will her penis grow in?"

-Sleeping: LO can sleep for 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night. He has been more awake during the day lately and surprisingly, gets more tired at night. Lucky me!
-Eating: I breast feed during the day and DH will bottle feed DS my pumped breast milk so that I can get some sleep. Knock on wood, DS is doing well with both breast and bottle feeding!
-Milestones: He loves his tummy time! I feel that he is already trying to roll over but can't manuever it quite yet. Currently waiting for his umbilical cord stump to come out!
-Questions: For the ladies that breast feed and also bottle feed with pumped breast milk, how is your supply? I'm wondering when I'll see an abundance of milk coming in. I can usually get 3-4 oz when I pump and would like to know what could be considered a "normal" amount that I should be able to pump out.
-Sleeping: 2-3 during the day, and 3 hour (occasionally 4) stretches at night.
-Eating: about every 2-3 hours during the day. I breastfeed and supplement with donor milk and formula via SNS (low supply due to anemia caused by PPH). I almost exclusively nurse and pump from my left. Only nurse a couple times a day on my right side.
-Milestones: increase in wakeful periods.
First - welcome to all the D14ers!
@runnershan I love reading yours, because our girls are the exact same age, and progressing similarly - I have to pump some supplement for her, but as the jaundice goes away further, she needs it less and less. It's such a pain though - it's always hard to know exactly how much she needs.
@Glbaby1 trying making sure LO is totally asleep before placing her in the crib. She may not fall asleep in the crib, but she's unlikely to wake up and protest. Then she'll get used to being in it.
@BrittG13 we can do tummy time for hours, if she's on my tummy. If she's on her playmat, 12-15 minutes would be awesome. And yes, we have ventured out. I take her several times a week to our public health building to weigh her. I try to do one errand each time so Christmas doesn't get forgotten. But I keep her completely encased in her stroller, so she's essentially bubble wrapped
@vcl2008 I can't help too much, because I don't think my baby needs gas drops/gripe water. However, one multi-hour fussy period a day seems totally normal. I'm just trying to adjust this period so it isn't at 1am
@audreym0824 if you can get 3-4 Oz when you pump, I'd say you're doing really well. I can get that much only if my LO was too fussy or sleepy to take anything from me. If she nursed beforehand, I'm lucky to get 1 Oz.
Sleeping: Myles has been sleeping much better since we've started swaddling him and using a white noise app at night. He's slept in 3-4 hour stretches the last few nights. I had done a modified (hands out) swaddle before, but he was really restless. I finally surrendered to the full swaddle and so far so good. It still makes me a bit claustrophobic though.
He is awake most of the morning and early afternoon with a few cat naps. Then he sleeps for about four hours in the late afternoon/ early evening.
Eating: we switched to formula (similar) when he was eleven days old. My supply was really low. Even the lactation consultant agreed with the switch. I was heartbroken, but I couldn't stand watching my baby go hungry. He's been doing great on formula. He has surpassed his birth weight. He eats about 3 oz every 1 1/2-4 hours depending on the time of day.
Questions: when do you decide to give gripe water? I have a few times when he seems uncomfortable. He hunches his back and squirms. Sometimes I can feel the bubbles in his intestines. That's when I've given it. I'm not entirely sure it does anything. Hmmm
