Sewing savy ladies- NB covers

Hey ladies! Several of you suggested I get some prefolds/flats and covers to supplement my NB stash.

My NB stash is currently 12 AIO newborn grovias.

I picked up a bunch of supplies to sew some of my own covers, but wondered if any of you had your favorite patterns for NB covers.

Also random newbie question - I keep seeing people mention GMD prefolds, but I don't know what GMD stands for.

    I was looking to do the same thing, so I asked if anyone had a beat-up 4.0 they didn't need anymore. I'm going to take the seams apart and make the pattern from the pieces.

    Find a cover you like and see if you can do the same thing!
    I'm no help with suggestions on which nb covers to try though... we used sposies until M was 4 weeks and then jumped right into 4.0s and FTs.
