Any other MSPI Mommys in this month?

My daughter is 16 months and was diagnosed with MSPI around three months. She is pretty severe, and has not outgrown it yet. I have heard that once you have a baby with these allergies that your other babies are more likely to have them too. Has anyone had any experience with this? I BF my daughter and am planning to BF this baby too. Wondering if anyone did an elimination diet before their baby was born? I am just really nervous this baby is going to have it too

Re: Any other MSPI Mommys in this month?

  • All three of my kids have/had it. DS2 out great it by two years old. DS1 has turned out to be lactose intolerant since out growing MSPI. DS3 still has it at 18 months old. I tried to BF DS3 but he started to FFT at 4 months old so we moved him to Elecare since we couldn't get him to gain weight. I'm not even going to try an BF this one, I'm gonna talk to the Pedi before LO comes and try to make a game plan.

  • I'm part of a group on FB and most of the time if one has had it then the other babies have it too. I think they have talked about it being in the parents genes somewhere(or something like that).

  • What group are you apart of on Facebook? @RedCherry1109‌ I'm just thinking I should maybe do an elimination diet before I have his baby.. I'm curious how long to do it for too. I have a friend who's baby didn't get it till 3 months.
  • DS has a MSPI too as still has it at almost 8 months. I'm concerned about DS2 having it as well and really don't know what to give DS once he needs to drink milk.

You can do Rice, Almond or Coconut milk. My DS1 and DS3 drink almond.

  • @lishaell, I think they are born with it just takes time to notice and for the doctor finally say they have it. I've so always heard to start the diet in the 3rd tri.

DD1 did not have MSPI and DD2 did...she outgrew it around 13 months...although if you ask her dr she never had it because I refused to not cut dairy and soy as soon as I suspected (due to a friend having dealt with it right before me)...dr even tried to recommend cows milk before she outgrew it...so frustrating.

Seriously might cry if this one has MSPI too!!! It was really hard to be dairy free for a year and it's really depressing to contemplate doing it again.

I do plan on cutting back a few weeks before my due date so if baby is MSPI, the dairy, etc will be out of my system quickly...the 2 weeks of not knowing what was wrong followed by 2-3 weeks of getting it all out of my system with DD2 was MISERABLE and I have no desire to be that sleep deprived and stressed out again!
  • @ambarnett1‌ my little girl does coconut milk, she wouldn't drink almond or rice milk. @RedCherry1109‌ Thank you for telling me about the facebook page! I went and requested to join... Thanks everyone! So if I do the elimination diet in my third trimester so it's out of my system when I have the baby, how long would you guys keep doing it after the baby is here? I just wonder how long should I keep up the diet before trying to eat normal and see how the baby handles it?
