edited December 2014 in June 2015 Moms

So I haven't seen any threads for the moms pregnant with multiples lately. Where'd we all go? Excuse me if I missed anything posted lately. So here we go.

1. How many weeks are you?

2. How many babies are you expecting?

3. Any symptoms still lingering around?

4. Are you a FTM or already have children at home?

5. Anything else I missed you'd like to add in?

6. Just for fun, what is your favorite part of Christmas? (Singing carols, family, presents, snow, etc)?

    1. How many weeks are you? I'm 13w4d.

    2. How many babies are you expecting? Twins!

    3. Any symptoms still lingering around? I finally quit taking my Zofran a few days ago. Only had one bad day since then. But the constipation has been bad. Other than that, just very tired, headaches and body aches. Finally starting to feel like I'm going into 2nd trimester.

    4. Are you a FTM or already have children at home? I have a 2 year old son at home.

    5. Anything else I missed you'd like to add in? I've heard from several people that twins can sleep in the same crib for a while. Has anyone had any knowledge with that?

    6. Just for fun, what is your favorite part of Christmas? Most of all I love spending the time with my family. I love the big meal (I work Thanksgiving, so I miss that meal) that my SIL and I will be making this year. And I love watching the expression on everyone's faces, especially the kids, when they open their gifts!

    I'm 14w1d

    I am expecting twins :)

Sometimes I get nausea when I don't eat often, which I feel might stick around for awhile. It does make me eat a healthy snack about every hour. (Clementines are my fav right now!)

    These are our first!

Our twins are Di/Di, we're hoping for one boy and one girl but will be thrilled with which ever!

My favorite part of Christmas is buying gifts for the ones I love and seeing them open them!

I have a friend that had twins and she kept them in the same crib until they were moving a lot. She said it helped soothe them both to be by each other.

Regarding the crib comment above.  I read somewhere (I think on a forum) that it increases risk of SIDS.  Not sure if that is true or not, as I haven't researched further.

@strawberrywaffle‌ oh that's scary! I haven't researched it myself, but we are definitely buying 2 cribs because I do not want to create a bad habit keeping them together (I have no idea if this is right or wrong and will use trial and error :) FTM here).

@GirPipley‌ I definitely have a bump already and it's fully showing! Granted I am 14 weeks but I feel like it's too soon but I guess it's what my body does!

I also have a bit of a bump. But I'm also a STM, so I'll tend to show sooner. Glad to know everyone is doing pretty well. I envy those of you with little to no symptoms. I had none with my ds and I got hit hard this time!

    3. Any symptoms still lingering around? All day morning sickness still, mostly dry heaving but I do throw up about every two days... Also I'm still exhausted, hair on my head is falling out but body hair is growing like crazy. My finger nails are beautiful for the first time ever at least!

    4. Are you a FTM or already have children at home? It's my first time!

    5. Anything else I missed you'd like to add in? I'm pretty sure the news of twins was way more exciting to my family but I'm really starting to get excited (as opposed to the fear and feeling of panic I experienced for a week after finding out).

    6. Just for fun, what is your favorite part of Christmas? EVERYTHING!!! I'm Christmas obsessed! I love being off work (I'm a teacher), having the family over (my house is the gathering place in my family, 13 people this year!!!), decorating both inside and out, the FOOD! I love all the food at Christmas, cutting down our own tree (I've gone to cut my family tree down every year of life, even when I was in my mom's tummy, and yesterday we took the two in my belly to get our tree!), traditions, games, Christmas movies and music, I literally LOVE everything about Christmas! My poor DH...

I definitely have a bump going on. I asked my OB at our N/T scan if my uterus was beyond my pelvis and he said that it's about 5 inches above. Very cool!

@DolphinLover2002‌ I'm not expecting twins -just one, but since I am a twin I wanted to read this post. :) I know that my sis and I slept in the dame crib for awhile, but I'm not sure how long. I have read studies that show how twins are happier and more comfortable sleeping together. If you think about it, they share the womb together for none months! :) I'm not sure if it's still considered safe, so I would chat with your doctor to see about their recommendation. I know that my mom said that she would put us at opposite ends of the crib, on opposites sides too, and my sis and I would frequently end up right next to each other, holding hands.:)

Thanks for the input @cscamina‌! What's your favorite thing about being a twin? Any tips for us moms to be? I will definitely talk to my doctor about the crib thing first. My mom was the one who told me that, so I was curious.

@DolphinLover2002‌ I love being a twin! My sister is my best friend! It has been wonderful always going through the "firsts" with her. First day of school, first sleepovers, first prom, weddings, etc. :) As far as tips- my mom and dad always taught us that even thought we are identical twins, we are also individuals, unique and wonderful in our own ways. They even taught us to say "I'm and individual" when people would call us "the twins." They made us feel okay that we are the same in some ways, and different in other ways. That would be my tip! We haven't always been best friends, we had the normal sibling squabbles, but we are still very close. It's a relationship no one else can fully realize or understand. It's wonderful!

So I haven't seen any threads for the moms pregnant with multiples lately. Where'd we all go? Excuse me if I missed anything posted lately. So here we go.

    1. How many weeks are you?

    I'm 12w 2d

    2. How many babies are you expecting?

    2 (surprise!)

    3. Any symptoms still lingering around?

Yes :frowning: but I hope it ends soon. Going to bed so early, eating every 10 mins (but only 3 bites), throwing up...

    4. Are you a FTM or already have children at home?

I have a 15 month old. They will be less than 2 years apart, yikes!

    5. Anything else I missed you'd like to add in?

How long did it take everyone to get over the shock? I'm trying but I often panic thinking about all the what ifs. I am excited in theory but I'm also so scared!

    6. Just for fun, what is your favorite part of Christmas? (Singing carols, family, presents, snow, etc)?

Family for sure but I also have loved buying gifts for my daughter! Maybe went a bit overboard
  • Options
    1. How many weeks are you?
    13 weeks
    2. How many babies are you expecting?
Mono/di twins and the ultrasound tech was pretty sure they are identical girls... We have another gender us for the 29th so we will see how accurate she is.
    3. Any symptoms still lingering around?
All of them!!!!! Lol. Constipation, headaches, dizziness, fatigue! I wonder if it is ever going to get better.
    4. Are you a FTM or already have children at home?
I already have an almost 10 year old daughter so she is going to be a major help with the twins.
    5. Anything else I missed you'd like to add in?

    6. Just for fun, what is your favorite part of Christmas? (Singing carols, family, presents, snow, etc)?
I love the lights and just the feeling that Christmas brings!
