Back pain help plz? :(

Ok so for months my lower back, specifically my tailbone has been giving me grief. No big deal until lately. I have googled how to alleviate some of the pain and not heat, warm baths, pillows between my les at night, stretching or Tylenol touch this pain. I can't sit in a chair or car, I can't lay flat, walking literally puts me into tears and I detail vehicles at work so all the bending and squatting I have to do is extreme torture. I am close to the point where I quit my job and just stay at home in bed and be miserable. Have any of you women experienced this and found a method to help ease this pain at all? I have gone to the chiropractor and even gotten massages but nothing works. I realize this comes with pregnancy but with my previous two the pain was not this intense and unbearable. Thanks in advance girls and I hope everyone is doing well!

  • Have you talked to your OB about the pain?

  • I'm also getting back pains, and rib pains but I just deal with it, there isn't much you can do.
  • I think if you're in THIS much pain, you need to see your OB and consider if you need X-rays to look for a bigger problem.

  • I had bad tailbone pain and unfortunately it just took time. Mine also lasted years after pregnancy. I could not sit through a movie or go to concerts and any restaurant with wooden seats were painful. X-rays showed nothing and it was very frustrating. Slowly it got better with time though

  • I go to see my OB on the 29th and will address it with him but I just figure it was worth asking you ladies about. I've been watching for other threads and I have tried some of the suggestions given, however nothing works :( I suppose I will just suck it up and get through the next 3.5 months and hope that if I just have to deal with it, that it doesn't last much longer!

Thanks for your input ladies, I sincerely appreciate it.

The 29th seems like a long time to wait if you are in that kind of extreme pain. Why not call sooner?
  • Physical therapy? I went for a brief class...offered for pregnant women...cuz I had horrible nerve pain in my hip...and she showed my husband what to do to help it. as well stretches to help too.
  • I read something about sitting and leaning forward with your legs open (hanging your belly between your thighs). I've tried it recently & it seems to take the pressure off somewhat. I do it for a minute or so if I have to sit in the same position too long.
  • I've tried heat, massage, pillows, and Tylenol. Nothing helped until I used a hand held massager!! I was surprised how much relief I got from it. My mom had one and didn't use it, so she said try it before you buy one:-)
  • But don't forget to check with your doctor to make sure you are not too far along where they can cause you to go into labor as I'm not sure how far along you are. Or you aren't too early to use one.
