I'm 90% sure it's my turn so here goes nothing:
1. What's your favorite place you've traveled to?
2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
3. If money were no object, tell us your dream vacation.
4. Name a place you are curious to visit, but likely never will because of danger, war, embargo, or some other reason.
5. What's your favorite part about traveling/going on vacation?

Re: GTKY Friday: Travel Edition
Hawaii. We stayed at a hotel on the southwestern coast of Maui, and it was blissful. We rented a car one day and drove all over the island and ate at a bunch of local places. It was amazing.
2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I don't really care what country, but I would love to own a small house in the countryside where I can go to an awesome market to buy vegetables and meat everyday. I guess France fits the bill on this one.
3. If money were no object, tell us your dream vacation.
I'd do a major tour of India, Thailand, and China, and I'd hire a guide or translator or something because I've never spoken those languages and I would want a less touristy experience.
4. Name a place you are curious to visit, but likely never will because of danger, war, embargo, or some other reason.
Currently, the middle east -- I'm obsessed with Lebanese food, and I would just wander the spice markets everyday.
5. What's your favorite part about traveling/going on vacation?
Seeing my husband turn off his work phone!
But see, it's still a couple of hours a day, haha. I don't think I'll ever get him to go cold turkey for a week!
3. Dream vacation - National Geographic world cruise! DH might jump to a watery grave after I drag him to all the lectures, but hopefully the once-in-a-lifetime shore excursions will give him a reason to live.
4. I would love to experience an exotic, steamy, colorful, musical vacay to some Pacific Islands, but my ridiculous skin sensitivity to sand, saltwater, and especially even a hint of sunshine, make that pretty much impossible to enjoy.
5. My favorite part of travel is flying by myself. I love the feeling of being alone in some random city (or over some random body of water), totally disconnected from any other responsibilities and just 100% enjoying life with myself. I love wandering around the airport, choosing what shopping or tasty treats I will indulge in, and even love rushing to read departure boards and dragging massive luggage up stairs in a tiny airport. Such a rush!
1. What's your favorite place you've traveled to?
Probably Venice, Italy. The beauty, the history, the waterways, the culture. I love everything about it!
2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I'd love to live in small town southern America (assuming that town is accepting of an interracial family - you'd be surprised how many are not no matter what region you're in). I want a place where women are ladies and men can be men.
3. If money were no object, tell us your dream vacation.
There are a couple dream vacations: 1) A whole summer (3 months) in a small Italian countryside village where no tourists travel and nobody speaks English. 2) Same as #1 but in France. 3) A verrrrry long cruise in a warm climate.
4. Name a place you are curious to visit, but likely never will because of danger, war, embargo, or some other reason.
Egypt! Like Venice, I am fascinated by the history and culture but wouldn't travel anywhere over there right now.
5. What's your favorite part about traveling/going on vacation?
I like road trips with my husband. We have so much fun being cooped up together, even in a small hotel room.

1. What's your favorite place you've traveled to?
Probably Israel. Even though it may fall into the category of question number 4 due to the volatile relations - it's such a beautiful country. It's also the only place I've visited where you can go from dense forrest to dessert in an hour's drive. Obvioulsy, there's also just so much culture and history, regardless of your religion. I have a fair amount of family there so I definitely hope to go back someday.
2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I second @rainbowbridge14 I would love to line in New Zealand or Australia for just a few years. I think it would be so amazing. Something about the weather there and laid back attitudes of everyone I've ever met from those countries. I feel like something about being an island just keeps people less stressed, who knows, wishful thinking I'm sure!
3. If money were no object, tell us your dream vacation.
I too would have to cheat on this answer and say a trip around the world. I'd love to visit every continent - take a year and just anywhere and everywhere. I definitely want to visit Asia (Thailand tops my list too) and Africa, but if I had unlimited resources I wouldn't be able to limit myself. The world is just too big!
4. Name a place you are curious to visit, but likely never will because of danger, war, embargo, or some other reason.
@lemonliz Cuba is my answer for this one too! That's an awesome story about your grandmother great aunt (oops my bad!) btw! I love it! I think it would be such a cool place to visit. I definitely want the food! As an aside @lemonliz If you haven't already been, you should go to Hungary too, I loved Budapest!
5. What's your favorite part about traveling/going on vacation? Definitely being away from work. I also really enjoy not having to clean up after myself (you know, someone else making the bed every day, no dirty dishes in the sink). And when I'm lucky enough to travel out of the country I enjoy DH and I being unplugged from our cellphones. It's such a nice change of pace!

1. What's your favorite place you've traveled to? Paris & Bruge. We went for our honeymoon and 11 days was not enough time. I loved just walking through the city, seeing the site, the history, architecture, the breads, almond croissants. We'd love to go back for our 10 year anniversary.
2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I need somewhere with warm water. Being born and raised in Miami, we love going to the beach, take advantage of outdoor activities throughout the year (except Aug/Sept - when it's scorching hot). My dream would be to buy a house somewhere in Europe and retire there for 1/2 of the year and come back to Miami for the other 1/2.
3. If money were no object, tell us your dream vacation. I'd probably do different cruises to Italy, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Greece, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Japan so I can find my retirement location.
4. Name a place you are curious to visit, but likely never will because of danger, war, embargo, or some other reason. Turkey, my brother was stationed there while in the Air Force and from the pictures, I'm curious to visit. And Cuba - the entire side of my mom's family left either before, during or after the embargo. It's a dream of mine to see where my grandmother grew up, the church where my grandparents got married, if it's still and there where my mother and aunt lived. I will not be going until Fidel Castro's reign is over.
5. What's your favorite part about traveling/going on vacation?I love seeing their culture, meeting new people, time to reconnect with myself and get away from the hustle/bustle of everyday life.
Edited - forgot an important location

1. We haven't traveled much, but Jamaica was my favorite. I really pushed my comfort level there and it was incredible.
2. DH and I seriously considered moving to Australia. I would also love Ireland, though I've never actually been to either.
3. A year long journey around the world. We actually planned to volunteer our way around the world for a year but we never went through with it.
4. Cuba, hands down. Israel and Egypt would be amazing, but my family is Cuban (I'm first generation American) so I want to go visit there.
5. The adventure! Getting to do and see new things is my favorite aspect of travel. Plus, nothing beats vacation sex.

2. I'd probably pick somewhere down south, but not Florida. Maybe the Carolinas?
3. A month long Mediterranean cruise.
4. I would love to see the pyramids in Egypt.
5. Honestly, I like the excitement of planning a trip, and having something to look forward to. (Almost more than actually going!) I get homesick really quickly.
