I often end up eating a second breakfast every day about three hours after the first one.
No particular reason for posting. I am hungry and couldn't think about anything else. I should probably stop being lazy and eat a healthier first breakfast.
First breakfast is usually something quick and easy like PB on toast just to get me going. Then second breakfast is the REAL breakfast. Breakfast Tacos have been a particular fav.
This exactly! I eat toast usually the first time i wake up and then when i wake up again, i usually have something more hearty like cocoa wheats or even just lunch that i count as second breakfast and then eat lunch a few hours later.
I always have a yogurt and granola bar for 2nd breakfast, you know, 'cause I'm trying to be all healthy and stuff... unless someone brings in doughnuts to work, or the girl next to me has candy, or I see an ad for chips and suddenly want them, or someone walks by me with good smelling food and I feel compelled to buy something that tastes better than my yogurt...
I LOVE second breakfast! It usually consists of cereal and then another breakfast treat, but on the weekends... WATCH OUT! My weekend second breakfast looks a lot like this:

@Prpljade i adore cocoa wheats. I have a huge grocery store near me where i find them. Hope you can find a box. I'm sure he'd be thrilled with the nostalgia. Haha. I think of being a kid when i eat them.
Second breakfast all the way! Love it I try and bring fruit or something to eat... Sometimes it just ends up being popcorn or whatever I brought for lunch.
@Prpljade I made this Baked French Toast Casserole a couple of years ago for Christmas breakfast with DH's family. It was amazing! It has the praline topping that's just oh my god. There is a step you have to let sit overnight so you can't decide to do it at the last minute or anything. Totally worth it though!
I wish that I could have second breakfast. I usually have a bowl of cereal when I wake up while the boys eat. Then, a couple of hours later I'm hungry again, but whenever I get something my boys come over and start pestering for bites. If I give them a bite they ask for another, and then consume half my breakfast. If I give them only one bite and then explain why they only get one bite (Mommy needs more food for the baby, please let me eat my food, you had a really good breakfast, yes I know that you only got one breakfast but Mommy needs food more frequently and you'll ruin your lunch if you eat a bunch now, etc.) they throw a fit, and then get put on time out for throwing a fit, and then when I eventually get back to my breakfast it's cold and I'm cranky. It's just easier to not eat except at their meal times. But second breakfast would be nice.
My daughter does this. Her motto is "All your food are belong to me" (bad grammar intentional, it's a game quote).
My DH called me a hobbit this morning since second breakfast has now become a must. Had toast with laughing cow cheese and rhubarb jelly at 630 and then leftover white cheddar mac n cheese with two peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and milk at 1030! Just about ready for my first lunch
Today I had cake for first breakfast, and cake for second breakfast. And I just finished off another piece of cake for my afternoon snack. People keep bringing cake to my work for Christmas presents! Everyone assumes the pregnant lady will eat it, so I always have to help out.

I feel like Pam from The Office already.. I eat breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, first dinner (or second lunch I guess) and then dinner. This is the biggest reason I love being pregnant.
I almost always eat second breakfast. I don't have the capacity to eat as much in one meal as I did pre-pregnancy. Then there is snack, lunch, snack, first dinner and then second dinner (with dh) if my heartburn isn't bad. Then Tums for dessert and midnight snack.
Last night I made bbq pulled pork with leftover pork loin roast, then I put it in a burrito with refried beans, cheddar cheese, and sriracha sauce. I had one for first dinner, and another for second dinner. So good it was almost worth the heartburn.
I told my DH last week how I started enjoying second breakfast just like the hobbits and he laughed at me. I will tell him it is a real thing. I usually have a bagel for first breakfast and then whatever I can scrounge up at school for second breakfast!!
Second breakfast is so essential. If it's a work day, I usually pack a sliced apple and cheese or a yogurt.. especially if first breakfast is a bagel or something heavier.
And if it's the weekend, anything goes. Today it was a breakfast taco.. and then fruit and Christmas cookies that I baked last night.
I was also having this discussion with my DH the other day, and how I'm one step away from "ulta feast" (Pam & Kevin's extra meal in the office). My first breakfast usually consists of raisin bran or cinnamon toast (so healthy) and second breakfast is usually a large chai soy latte. If they made something bigger than a large, it would be that.
Second breakfast is the best! I usually eat a bowl of cereal and granola bar or something like that while cooking breakfast for my boys then I eat the meal with them when its done. I know that's a fat fat fatty thing to do but f it I'm always starving when I wake up. I usually get up in the middle of the night and eat too lol
I love second breakfast!! I think today it'll be an apple and a cheese stick because I didn't properly plan, and then chicken and wild rice casserole for elevensies! Yay for the Hobbit meal plan!
Re: Second breakfasts
I just wish i wasn't so nauseous right now...
Has anyone seen recipes for french toast bake or casserole? Isn't that just breakfast bread pudding? I am so down with that.
Bagels and cream cheese have been my go to first thing in the am lately.
