Just wondering how soon after delivering your babies you were back running. Of course I will follow my Drs' recommendations. Just curious how soon you felt up to running or jogging.
Last time I did Zumba up to 31w. I only stopped because dd was born at 33w. Of course things were heavily modified by that point. I had a c/s and was cleared at 7w ppd to resume activities. I started the classes again, slowly, and worked my way back over the next few weeks.
I run...not a ton but I run lol. I will be having a csection, so it will probably be 4 weeks before I can start at it again. 32 weeks now and still doing Zumba, but no running
I want to say that I was running around 4-6 weeks? Although I'm not a great runner, I would run a mile or two just trying to lose the baby weight any way I could. I'm more of a hot yoga person and can NOT wait to get back into it in a few weeks!
I had c section with ds1 and ran for first time at 7weeks. I was totally freaked out that I'd screw up the "stitch work" and that kept me a little less mobile than before. Within two weeks of light running, I started to get my rhythm back and then restarted Crossfit at 4 months (it requires so much core).
Thanks everyone! I've been more active with this one than the previous ones. And I don't want to go back to that sedentary lifestyle. I'm doing a marathon relay on Sunday which will probably be my last race. I'm scheduled for 1/5 and am already looking at races for next year. My dr recommends the standard 6-8 weeks, just wondered when you active moms actually felt up to being active again.
I was back to running 3 miles a day 3 weeks pp. Each week I increased my mileage and ran a half at 4 months pp. I had a really good delivery and no stitches to deal with.
@Nursemarie925 good luck on Sunday!! I'll try and look for the other crazy pregnant lady running I'm hoping the weather forecast gets better by Sunday.
Good luck to you too!
Definitely not looking forward to running in the rain! Hope to see you there
I am amazed by anyone who is able to run this late in the game!! Good for you! I get so out of breathe just walking to the kitchen to grab another cookie... Seriously though my hips and lower back have had an awful time this pregnancy and it hurts to walk. I figure there's time after she's born to be active again.
I had a Csection after 12 hours of labor and I was in a lot more pain afterwards then most people I know. I think I was on percoset like 2 or 3 weeks and things were still sore when I was off it. I got the ok by my OB to ride horses again at 6 weeks but honestly I didn't try until 8 bc I was still lightly bleeding and it just hurt. I'm much much more out of shape this time around... I have no idea when I'll be able to run again!

I think it's the 3rd one. Near White Rock Lake.
