Nope. I want my boobs to myself for a little while before #2 shows up. I started weaning around 11 months, but still had 1-2 sessions a day until October. So DS has been completely booby-free for about 2 months now.

Nope - weaned at 14 months. I don't even miss it and I thought I would, but since her eating problems and waking up 4+ times every night magically stopped one day after we were done weaning, I have some negative feelings about my nursing experience - although it was mostly positive.

@Mangie717 if you are ready to wean - we did the "don't offer, don't refuse" method and it was emotionally painless for both of us. Sorry about the biting!

@casey78 someone needs to tell me the magic day you're supposed to stop. We stopped around 11.5 months and in my crunchy community some people had an inflection indicating that it was too soon.

I nursed until 3 mos and EP'd until her first birthday. If nursing had worked out for us, I would have gone as long as she wanted.

I nursed LO #1 for 5 1/2 months and only stopped because I got pregnant again and I dried up. I am currently nursing LO #2 and its going well. I'm taking it one month at a time though. With LO #1 I felt like I never could keep up with how much she wanted. Pumping was hard and I just couldn't produce enough. So far with #2,things are going well and I am able to keep up. Hopefully I can continue to keep up. A year would be ideal for me, but like I said I'm taking it one month at a time.

Not looking like she'll wean anytime soon. So add us to the boob freak faction, as well as the "isn't she too old" faction. My mom said it was weird, and that it was bordering 'Game of Thrones' weird. REALLY? Nursing a 17 month old is almost like nursing a 9 year old? I'm no lactivist- but these people and their comments can just shove it!

At 1 year our pedi was worried about DD's low weight gain and thought my supply could have dipped. She recommended that I drop 2 of the 6 feedings and start whole milk. I did and then DD stopped nursing at her 8am and 5pm feedings. She held on to the 8pm and 4am, but I could tell she was not getting milk so one night after she turned 15 months I just did not nurse and she did not even look for it. I had supply issues and dried up at 6 months with DS so making it until 15 months made me happy.

Ian weaned at 13 mos. At the time I felt ready to be done with nursing and did the don't offer don't refuse route, and he just was way more interested in real food. I am actually kind of sad he's not still nursing, DD self weaned at 21 mos, and I really enjoyed that toddler nursing relationship we had.

We're still going - but just morning and bedtime. DD was 18m last weekend, so I'm pretty proud of that. We'll stop eventually, but it's so low maintenance now that I'm in no hurry.

I think it's really awesome that so many of you have nursed so long. I am hoping my next baby won't have the feeding issues that Addie had and we can nurse for a long time. I love that cuddly time with the baby.

I honestly have no idea how we will get her to sleep without nursing. She seems like she doesn't really care about the morning nurse session. The nap and bedtime ones are more for relaxing and comfort, I think.

I was stressed about the how the heck do you get him to sleep thing too. In the last month the only time we have had an issue is while teething.

Add Aldi to faction boob freak.

He is all about nursing lately. It's kind-of insane. I like having a chance to put my feet up and get some cuddles, but am definitely feeling a bit more self-conscious about doing it in public as he gets older. And totally am with @missconstrued about not knowing how to get him to sleep without boob.

I am trying to do some night-time weaning lately, which has had mixed results.

We are still going. I too thought that 12 months was my goal but now I'm happy to let him decide. We are typically morning and evening and after each nap, if I'm home, else he gets a bottle of pumped milk (barely anything, but I'm afraid if I drop my one pump during work day my supply will crash). I love our nursing relationship, plus it's handy during freak outs or while he's getting a shot.

I'm not actively avoiding pregnancy. Yes it would be sad, but you can nurse through your pregnancy & afterward
