So I've tried our cloth stash a couple of times and it just seemed insanely bulky on our LO. I popped one on today, a size one Thirsties cover and prefold, and I think I've got it on okay and that it doesn't look as much like it will eat him alive... would love some feedback as we've never used CD before. Not sure how well you'll be able to tell from the photo but I can always take more ;-) TIA
ETA: I used the angel wing fold, I think. The trifold makes it even bulkier!
Re: CD Feedback Requested
I use the angel wing fold, but I fold the top over in the front for a little extra absorbancy. It does give DS a massive fluffy butt, but I'm okay with that.
@MmmPopcorn, @carafern Thanks
@moroccojade I've started telling Jackson good poop and pee with diaper changes and when I can tell he is going. Maybe next week we will try breaking out a bowl! Anything for less laundry, right?
He was 8.12lbs at his two week on 12/3. And he was at 21.5" long. By our home scale which only goes to half pound increments he is now 10lbs.
The prefolds I have are all size one Thirsties, Bummies and small GMDs. So that is probably contributing some. I knew to expect fluffier, I guess I just wasn't expecting this fluffy! Maybe part of it is a learning curve too as even with the angel wing fold we've gotten poop on covers. No leaks, but definitely dirty covers.
Also, I've had better luck with the jelly roll fold for containing newborn poo. This video was helpful!

Adorable LO!!
CDs are bulky but the babe's grow into them and you surprise yourself needing a bigger size!
Thanks again all
In just a onsie and pants she looks like she has a major case of FUPA going on. Whenever we leave the house I make sure to put a dress or tunic over her onsie and leggings so she doesn't look as ridiculous.
