Nicki's or Thirsties Duo Wrap size 2

Currently we use a mix of Imagine and Nicki's covers for ON.  I like that they are roomier than the BB's we use during the day.  And I like that they are cheaper because once they come off in the morning they go straight into the wetbag (only used once).

My Imagines have been frustrating me b/c the stitching on the trim keeps coming undone.  Each one that has happened to, I have been taking back to the store and they exchange/return them.  But that is becoming a PITA.  I have 2 more now I am going to take back soon.

Should I just exchange them for more Nicki's covers?  Or are Thirsties Duo Wrap size 2 worth a few dollars more?  Or are there any other affordable covers (I can get from Nicki's) that would be worth trying?  They don't need to be tuckable.  And I am not particular about snaps.

Re: Nicki's or Thirsties Duo Wrap size 2

  • We just got some Thirsties Size 2s and they are much roomier than the Best Bottom cover that we have. I like the fit for the most part, but like @lbs2012 pointed out, the single row of snaps isn't as nice as a double row. My husband greatly prefers our double row covers. I find it easier to get a good fit around my toddler's waist/hips with double snaps.

  • We use (mostly) duo's with Velcro ON and we have been happy with them. I was not crazy about the snap duo's.

  • I love the velcro size 2 Duo Wraps. I had trouble using them ON because I have a really heavy wetter and the tuckable tabs would wick, and he even soaked through the TPU. I did not have this issue using the thicker PUL of the Blueberry Coveralls, which is what we use strictly ON. But, if you don't have a super heavy wetter, I'd say try the Velco Thirsties.
  • I think the Thirsties Duos are my favorite covers. My LO is still in size one, but I do have a size 2 for later. It looks like it is a little roomier than the Nicki's and Imagine covers I have. I haven't had any issues with the Thirsties wearing out and she's been wearing them (I have 4 total) almost exclusively in the 5 weeks we've been CDing.

P.S. Nicki's has a fairly new Imagine wool cover. I have one that I use over night occasionally. It seems to work well...and you don't have to wash it all the time!
  • I love my Thirsties Duo snap size 2.  They are roomier than a Nickis in the butt, waist is about the same.  The single row of snaps is a bit different if you are used to two rows though.

I'm not sure if Nickis sells Sweet Pea, but those are pretty affordable, and run fairly big.  I bought three of them about 18 months ago for $10 a piece, new.  One delaminated a couple months ago after 18 months of heavy use.  The other two are still going strong.

I'm also digging my bummis super brite for ON.  They only come in velcro.  The cut is really full, so I'd hate them for daytime, but it's good for ON.

  • I didn't read all the responses, but I much prefer my Nicki's covers to the Thirsties duo wrap size 2. The Nicki's covers better and doesn't wick like the Thirsties.
