Memory from your last pregnancy?

Random thought..... My last pregnancy I thought I was just really gassy and as the babies moved more and more I realized it wasn't gas! Then after I had the kids I was thinking my gas was a baby moving lol. Now I'm really gassy again! A little too early this time though. Something you guys remember from your last pregnancy?

Re: Memory from your last pregnancy?

  • My daughter would always hang out on my right side and it would always feel like she was arching her back like a cat to stretch out all the time. I love when they are big enough for movement.

  • I can remember her little butt up under my right ribs.  I remember the night I was induced and she was so happy hanging out, still butting up under my ribs, and I felt bad that we had to do a medical induction early.

  • When DS was about 30 weeks he flipped head down and stayed that way. He had his back and his butt pushed up against my stomach a lot, and I could poke and tickle him and it was so funny.

I remember when I was in labor with ds2 and I was high from the iv meds that's all I always get I hate needles especially the huge one for the
eepidural. So anyway after like three pushes I looked at my H and ask is he out lmao you should of seen everyone face like she can't be serious. I was so stoned lmao. He came out a few pushes later
  • DD moved a ton at night. DH would just sit up and watch her move while I slept. During the day she wasn't very active so I missed a lot of the action.

As far as gas. This time, yup. So much gas. It's ridiculous. But def doesn't feel like movement.

  • DD was head down and fully engaged by 32 weeks.  I spent the last 8 weeks looking like I had a baby in my knees! :-D  I also used to put the tv remote on my belly and watch her kick it off.

Oh my gosh.. This!! Before I got pregnant this time, I would feel little gas bubbles and be like.. That's a baby, it had to be! Haha

My first DS STAYED in my right ribs. It was the worst but best feeling ever!
  • It's so funny you say that-I could have written your post myself!

It's very hard in the beginning to tell what's gas and what's a flutter. And then after I had DD, I had a few moments of panic when I'd feel a flutter, but it was obviously just gas bc I tested negative. So weird!

First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09
Then came a miscarriage March '11

  • She's 15 years old but I remember it like it was yesterday. My hair was a grease pit, no matter what I did, hormones were not nice to my hair.

I had 6 ultrasounds (made friends with the tech) and still couldn't find out what she was, she wouldn't cooperate.

32 hours of labor, didn't progress, they broke my water and found she was breech (WTF) and I ended up having a c-section, her little butt was the first thing that popped out.

She has always been stubborn ;)

  • When I was between 28-32 weeks the kid dislocated two of my left ribs. The constant pain from tht was worse than labour, I pretty much lived at the chiropractor after that. Pain went away about a month after he was born.

And when the midwife was doing a S&S the week before I was due, he started ramming his head into my cervix and it was the weirdest feeling ever. The midwife had a horrified look on her face and took a break before doing it again but he kept doing the same thing.

  • When I was 14.5 weeks pregnant with DS I had some bleeding. I called my OB's office and they couldn't get me in for 24 hours after, and I was really worried. I was sitting at my desk at work and was leaning forward looking at my computer screen when I felt "bubbles" and I was like, "Was that the baby? This is too early to feel the baby, isn't it?" (I started out my pregnancy with him underweight, though.) The next day when I went to see the OB and she did an u/s, the baby wiggled and I felt the "bubbles" again and I just remember being so overwhelmed I started to cry, because now I had that little reassurance that everything was OK.

  • Same thing with not knowing my son was moving! Was meeting with a client and kept feeling this little ticklish feeling. After a few more times I realized it was him moving! And he only became more active after that lol! Loved watching him shift and my belly looked like a tidal wave! ;) And when he would wiggle his butt..

  • I remember feeling DS for the first time. My dad was doing some small repairs on my car and we were test driving it. I felt this little pop and couldn't control my giggles when telling my dad. I looked over to check traffic as we were at a four way stop, and he had tears in his eyes. It's still one of my most favorite memories.

I also remember late in pregnancy waddling down the hall to go to the bathroom. I had my hand resting on the right side of my bump, just as DS drug his foot down. I remember feeling so connected to him.

  • Dd would also get hiccups all the time. And sometimes she would stick her head or butt up out of my stomach it was weird lol

  • My DS' s movement was much more obvious than DD's, I'm hoping for movement like DS' s this time around. Memory for me, when DH looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, "You did it babe" when our DS was born.
  • DS would curly up on my left side at bed time. DH sleeps to my right and I would lay on him before bedtime and he would read to "us" from one if the development apps, DS would be wiggling all about, as soon as I turned to my left I could feel him curl up and calm down. I loved every minute of it.

I also complained toward the end of pregnancy I felt like he was just rolling his head around against my pelvic bone, the first time DH held him, he made the movement, DH exclaimed "I guess you were right babe".
  • At one of my US my DS looked straight at the screen and yawned, I have the recording on my phone, it was just so adorable to catch it on video!
  • I remember close to the end feeling these little bumps on my tummy wondering what they were and then realising they were toes! I could count all ten it was so lovely but they were all in a line so DH was not convinced. When DD was born she curled up into her foetal position with her feet crossed and all her toes lined up just how I'd felt- amazing.
  • I loved feeling my daughter kick. It was like she was telling me a secret. Only her and I knew.  That was the only thing I missed about being pregnant. I can't wait to feel that again.

  • My son sat so high, he made it hard for me to breath. I felt like I needed to apologize to people for taking (or trying to take) deep breaths because I sounded like I was annoyed with them!
  • I remember her shaking her little booty all the time in my belly. Lol.

I also remember expecting this massive amount over crying emotion when I would finally meet her. It didn't happen. I cried a little but just stated at her thinking, "omg this is my child. I made this!" Meanwhile DH who I had only seen cry once was bawling. I also remember them telling us we were discharged and I looked at DH and said "OMG they are just going to let us take her home. Just walk out of here with a baby!" Haha clearly I was in shock.

Also, I had two epidurals and they didn't work. Only my right leg was numb. I pushed for 2.5 hours before she finally made it out. I was so exhausted and hurt so much I slightly passed out between pushes. This time I don't even think I'll try an epi.

  • Thank you ladies for sharing!! A lot if these made me tear up too, there's so many memories to be had and experienced already.
  • Hiccups. Oh I loved hiccups. My son used to get so mad about them. I have a video of him on my fb hiccup and then freak out and my whole stomach would move.

  • I just love having the bump. I don't like kicks much. They've always usually hurt. It was amazing to see how my older son connected with his sister before she was born though. And the built in table!
  • When I was pregnant with DD#2, DD#1 nicknamed her Bubbles (i think it was after a baby elephant on mickey but I am not really sure). Anyways the nickname was spot on because #2 was born in a "bubble" of sorts - my water never broke so she was born en cual. Once her head was out, I had to stop pushing so my doc could cut the bag open before I pushed her the rest of the way out. Supposedly, it's good luck when that happens.

  • When my son would start moving, my husband would gently push back where he was kicking. They would do this for as long as I could take it before I had to pee. It was the sweetest thing to watch them interact before he was even born. Oh and the hiccups, he got them every day! I loved to watch my belly jump!
  • Such beautiful stories ladies! I teared up at a lot of them! Can't wait to start feeling those movements and kicks!
  • I also can't wait to experience all the kicks, twirls, hiccups... All your stories are so sweet. They definitely made me tear up :'(
  • My fave memory would be laying on the couch around 9pm every night with DH and watching my belly move. It never got old. We would just stare at it in amazement and awe. I cannot wait to relive that again.
  • We were watching my niece in a kids production of Les Mis when I felt the first real movements (could finally tell it wasn't gas or my imagination). Either LO will grow up loving or hating musicals and plays!

DH would stay up every night with his hand on my belly while I slept bc that was when LO was the most active. He said sometimes he'd do it for hours. I was glad he got to experience something that was just between the two of them.

The hiccups! Sometimes I felt sorry for the kid. And they continued for a few months when he was an outside baby too.
  • I just remember the last month being miserable. Couldn't hardly eat, sleep, move lol... Plus it was in the middle of Texas summer so I was dying of heat. Oh the joys! So worth it though!
  • Baby hiccups were my absolute favorite! My DD would always start going crazy when music was playing too. She still loves music and shakes her butt every chance she gets
