Hi Mamas! For those of you that didn't see the age based check in poll, people seemed on board with the idea of a weekly place where they could check in and compare notes with other moms with babies in the same age range. This will take the place of our old ticker change check in's. Enjoy!

Re: Weekly Check In for Babies Born 11/9 - 11/16
Sleeping: for most of her little life, she has slept about 2-3 hours (day or night) before needing to eat
Eating: we are EBF which is going well for the most part. Cluster feeding still drives me crazy and sore. We are also still struggling with getting her to take a bottle in preparation for February when I go back to work.
Milestones: she is definitely getting stronger, staying awake for longer periods of time during the day and is making more eye contact
Questions: I want to start baby wearing and have a k'tan... But neither of us can really figure it out...and LO is not comfortable. A friend offered me her ergo - is that easier??
AW: contrary to what I wrote above, baby slept from midnight to 5 am last night!! We woke her at 5 to eat and then she slept again from 6-7 and 8-10. I feel like a new woman, but am trying to not get my hopes up that this is our new thing...
-Sleeping At night 3-4 hours between feedings, during the day its all over the place. She typically naps during lunch time and then again later in afternoon/evening however time ranges greatly for length.
-Eating Every 2-4 hours anywhere between 2.5-4.5 oz. We are FF and she is doing really well.
-Milestones She rolls off her belly to her back (makes tummy time difficult), smiles, and I'm convinced that when I walked in this morning to sooth her, she reached up to me while her eyes were open. At one month she grew 2 inches and was up 2 lbs from her birth weight.
-AW I've managed to get DD to sleep in her crib at night and for naps during the day. I'm so excited about this because I don't have to worry about it when she goes to Day care, I'm also sleeping better since she is such a noisy sleeper.
1. Our baby is 4 weeks and 3 days old too.
2. She's up a lot during the day but overnight...let's see...went to bed at 10, up at 1, up at 4.30, up at 7. Since she's in bed with us it SEEMS like we're better rested. I didn't have to change her at 1am, so that felt like a victory.
3. Since we had her tongue tie fixed I know she's getting more. We still feed on demand ..
4. Nothing hugely significant, though I took her in the car for the first time today, which felt like a big accomplishment for us. Surprised that she went right to sleep.
5. Q: what are the best baby socks/slippers/footwear? None of ours stay on and the dry cleaner yelled at me for not having socks on the baby (She was bundled in a blanket!)
-AW: Why can't I mobile attach photos waaaaaaaah
@ssstephanie214 no clue about the socks! Ours always fall off too!
-Sleeping: she's always been a good sleeper, I usually get at least a 3 hr stretch at night...but 3 times within the last week shes given me a full 7 hours. I woke up worried!
-Eating: we are EBF which seems to be going well. She cluster feeds at night, which I assume is how she slept so well for those extended periods. I may have to return to work in 2 weeks, so we introduced a bottle this week. She was skeptical at first, but we tried again a few days later & she did great
-Milestones: she started smiling at me yesterday when I was talking to her. (: Doesn't seem to just be gassy smiles either, she did it on a few different occasions!
-Questions: anyone else have an ebf lo who has a lactose sensitivity? I've noticed that if I have any dairy she is up crying all night with tummy pains.
-AW: proud to be ebf still since I didn't have luck with DD1! & with no mastitis *knock on wood* I'm also getting my freezer stash started...so far we are at 36 oz
Sleeping: I really cannot complain. LO generally has a 4 hour stretch at night and then a 2/3 hour one. And I finally figured out that he'll usually go back to sleep again in the morning so I can either shower etc. or go back to sleep myself.
Eating: Also cannot compain. EBF baby, no problems nursing. I have been pumping a little bit as well and he takes a bottle easily. He was spitty and gassy for a bit but as long as we burp him really well and keep him upright for a while after eating he's usually good. I'm just feeding on demand, which feels like all the time but is usually every 2-3 hours in the day, every 1-2 hours in the evening and every 3-4 at night.
Milestones: Will seems to lift his head quite a bit and has been really focusing on faces and lights. He's also had a few smiles (especially today) that don't seem gas related.
AW: LO gained 2 pounds and grew 1.5 inches in 3 weeks. I'm pretty proud of that!
Age: 4wk, 3 days
Sleeping: A-freaking-mazing. She goes down between 8-9, sleeps until 4-5. I'm lucky. The only downfall is I'm getting up around 2 to pump. The 1st time she slept that long I didn't pump & ended up with the beginnings of mastitis.
Eating: EBF on demand. She goes through spurts. Cluster feeds from 4-8pm but during the day it's anywhere from 2-4 hours
Milestones: holding her head, tracking light, cooing, she's rolled from tummy to back a couple times
AW: she's seriously in the running for worlds best baby!
-Sleeping: We are still working on getting our days and nights straight. Sometimes he does pretty well at night (2 or 3 3-4 hour chunks), but the last couple nights he's had a 2-4 hour period where he's wide awake and does not want to lay by himself.
-Eating: Still working on this. We started out breastfeeding, but I had a low supply so I had to breastfeed, supplement, and pump (which ended up to be pumping and giving bottles for a while). We were using about half and half breastmilk/formula and gradually my milk supply became normal. We finally started primarily breastfeeding Tuesday of this week. He still struggles sometimes with getting enough at the breast because he's either lazy or frustrated, but we have definitely made major progress this week.
-Milestones: No big ones really... he smiles a ton after feedings (not related to interaction with us, but still so fun to see), and his neck is getting so strong. He's also looking at us when we talk to him a lot more.
-Questions: None that I haven't bombarded the breastfeeding thread with
-AW: Graham is 11lb 8.6oz (up from 10lb 13oz last Thursday)... such a porky boy! Here's a picture from yesterday and the birth announcement/christmas card we ordered, I love it!
Dx: PCOS
DS1 born 11/2014
DS2 born 11/2018
3 previous losses
Rainbow baby due 12/2021 - Team Green
Sleeping: About average, I see from reading the other responses
Eating: We EBF, and it's going really well. At 1 month he was up almost 2 lbs from his birth weight to 10 lbs. My daughter took until 3 months to hit 10 lbs! I'm kind of proud of my boobs. He gets a lot of credit too--Louie loves to eat.
Milestones: He's giving me hints of smiles, so I know the real ones are coming very soon. He's a pro at holding his head up on his own (like his sister), and loves to look around and blow spit bubbles. He's fascinated with my face.
Questions: I'm good for now! He has a bit of a tongue tie, but it's not affecting his eating so we're watching and seeing for now. His circ plastishield is falling off and looks painful
AW: I'm loving this second time mom thing! I'm so much more relaxed and feel like I have a better handle on things with Louie. I do feel bad that I'm way less patient with Gabby, but I'll get better as he sleeps longer at night.
Age: 4 weeks, 2 days
Sleeping: She does ok...varies day to day. She'll nap 2-3 hrs at a time during the day, but it takes me a long time to get her to settle down. At midnight she gets formula and will usually sleep 3-4 hrs. I get up to pump at 3am and then give her another bottle with formula. After 3am sometimes she'll go back to sleep for another 2 hrs, other times she fusses for 2 hrs!
Eating: I breastfeed during the day, I try to pump 2-3 times a day to increase my supply, but it's hard to do with a fusssy baby. I have post partum pre eclampsia (my pre eclampsia hasn't resolved following her birth, booo) and I believe it's impacting my milk supply. I feed her for 20+ mins on both sides at every feeding and still have to supplement her occasionally with formula or expressed milk. At midnight & 3am I give her formula.
Milestones: Olivia was 3 weeks early, I had to be induced due to worsening pre eclampsia, so she was 5lb 15 oz at birth..she dropped to 5lb 8 oz & it took just about 4 weeks to get her back to her birth weight! She's now 6lb 5oz! She's having more periods of being awake & alert during the day, she loves to look around, especially at patterns on pillows & blankets.
Questions: I'm taking fenugreek & pumping when I can to increase my supply..just wondering how much you ladies that pump get out after one session? I typically get 1 oz from the left and 1.5-2 oz from the right if I haven't fed her for 2 hrs, it's less after a feeding. I feel like this is not enough and I should be producing more...am i just crazy?
AW: I'm a mobile user & can't attach a pic, booo.
& ty for the feedback. I cut out dairy early on as a trial & error ordeal and that really seems to be the pin point. I will def mention it at her pedi appt next month! It stinks bc literally everything has cheese or dairy of some sort! I never realized how much until I had to cut it out

-Sleeping: He has both good and bad nights sleep wise still... the past 2 nights, he's only gotten up once at 3am and then been fine until 7 or so... here's to hoping it continues! I feel like whenever I say he's been sleeping well, he throws in a rough night and vice versa! Lol!
-Eating: We're EBF and little man is making big gains, so definitely is getting enough to eat (up to 10lb 10oz, per today's dr visit in comparison to his birth weight of 7lb 11.8oz), but he's had a reflux issue since birth, so feedings can be quite rough with him screaming, throwing up mid-feeding and afterward and having an insanely arched back that makes it difficult to burp him.
-Milestones: LO is very chatty and smiling a ton! I love when he "talks" to me! Also has been able to lift his head and look around for awhile..I was surprised by how quickly he started this!
-Questions: Anyone else dealing with reflux? If so, any recommendations (other than drugs, since it seems our doctor is never going to let us try anything)?
-AW: Proud of how well I've done with BF/pumping so far! I never thought I'd have success with it, especially for this long!
