Question for those who have had ultrasounds already

Hi ladies

I don't go for my first ultrasound until next Friday, and I have a couple questions.i realize every place is probably different, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

How many pictures do they give you? Can you ask for more (offer to pay? )
do they give you a CD? Or can you bring a usb stick?

I think every place does it differently. I was so overwhelmed I didn't even think to ask for pictures but when I left they gave me this packed of info and in it was a little folder with two of the ultrasound images in it.

My doctor's office does a 3d u/s around 28 weeks and will give you all those goodies, but for the early ones they just give out a couple printouts.

At my dating ultrasound she just printed me off a photo right in the room and handed it to me.

They printed out one picture and put in a congratulations card that the whole office signed! It seriously made me cry and I hugged my RE like a blubbering goof when she gave it to me.

It really must differ by office an stage of pregnancy. I got two pictures at a 6 week u/s, one of the baby blob and one indicating the heartbeat. I got four pictures at the 8 week u/s, two regular and two 3D images. I only get one more u/s the entire pregnancy, so long as there are no complications, so I hope that I get more images at the 20 week u/s! All of these were printed right in the room for us to take home. I really like being able to keep the pictures : )

They printed off 4 pictures for us at my ultrasound on Monday (9w2d), but they all look pretty much identical.

They gave me two print outs but we asked for three more and they gave them to us no problem. But again it does depend on the different doctors office policies. Good luck!

They printed us off 4 pics at my first ultrasound. Instead of asking for more could you just have copies made?

I got 6, printed out right there, and they all look different. (But I can't tell what any of them are.)

My OB also has an online portal, and the images are all on the portal, so I have access to an electronic copy as well.

I got three pictures and they gave me a CD this time (didn't get that with the other kids). They said to bring back the CD to my next ultrasounds and they'll add the new pictures to it.

I never get a cd, just pictures. How many I get really depends on the tech at my hospital.

With my last pregnancy they gave me 3-5x7 pictures at my 22 week scan. This time around I got 2 small prints during my 8 week scan

I got two at the 6 week, then like 8 at 7...I'm not sure why she printed so many, maybe because she was excited we were graduated from high risk? I've had others that give none!

If you don't get enough pictures, maybe you could try printing from home? I got 2 small pictures from the doctor, but scanned and resized them to 5x7 and they look great

I never got a cd or had the chance to save them to usb. My first US I measured at just 5 weeks. They gave me 1 photo of a gestational sac. The OB did not give me any photos and I didn't ask. I had another US that day at the RE office and they have a better machine. I think they gave me 6 photos.

During my last pregnancy, I went to the local college's sonography program and had a free 3D us done. They gave me like 20+ pics and uploaded them to USB. It was great for them since most of them don't get to practice on a pregnant woman. I must say though it was a little uncomfortable being there for 90 minutes while this poor girl tried to figure everything out.

I got 2 with my dd and 2 this time at an early one, with dd at my anatomy scan I got like 7 or so.

They gave me two pictures at my first appointment. I go for another one next week so we shall see how many I get this time around. I didn't even think to ask about it they just printed it out and gave them to me.

At our anatomy scan they gave us like 20. Hands, feet, profile of the face, full body, penis shots, all kinds. I shoved them all in his baby book because there are SO.MANY.

So far, at our dating ultrasound, we got one. And baby was a little blob so there wasn't much to see.

I was seven weeks four days and they printed three pictures. It was funny because as I was asking if they could print one, they were already printing. She drew arrows and wrote "baby A" and "baby B"

We got one picture with our first ultrasound. As the baby gets bigger I find with previous babies they've given more shots as well. Here we only get a cd if we have a 3d ultrasound

For my last one that was around 8 weeks (I think) I got 3 regular u/s pics and 1 3d pic.

In the fertility clinic I go to, they give me a picture per each visit. Sometimes, if the tech gets a better shot, she prints another picture for me. No CDs or USBs though. I am yet to find out how they do it at my regular OBGYN. Last time I had my US there, they found no heartbeat, so naturally, there was no picture included with the news.

I only got one at my 9 week appointment, but it was not a large machine, and honestly, there wasn't a whole lot to see yet. Baby wasn't moving around a whole lot so one picture pretty much covered everything there was to see

I go on Monday for my first ultrasound but with my last you could ask for more pictures. They didn't give us a cd but when we had an elective 3d/4d ultrasound at (for gender determination) they gave us a ton of pics and a cd full of all the images/video clips. It was awesome only $100 for an hour session.

Think it's different everywhere but I got two pictures and a DVD of the baby moving around which is awesome, you could probably ask for more

Wasn't much for me to see when I went to mine but no pictures and no DH in the room with me. She told me won't get anything until 20 weeks. But this is a fairly new rule at my hosptial.

We got 6 pictures printed at my 9 week appointment, one which showed the heartbeat. We didn't get a cd but we took our camera and videoed the whole u/s. I'm so glad we did because everyone loves to see the baby move and hear the heartbeat. My doc had no issues with us filming.

With my first two I got 2 pics, but this time I only got one because the OB was having a hard time getting a good angle to get a CRL measurement. They printed them out for me. As soon as I got home I scanned it so I have a digital copy, too.
