Obviously every baby is different, and I'm assuming you mean nighttime nursing. Once DS2 was 4 weeks old, he would give us 4-5 hour stretches at night. By 6 weeks it was 6-7 hours and now at 2 months it's 7-11 hours at night. However, he will nurse every 2-3 hours during the day. Usually 3 hours after the big morning feed, then 2-3 hour intervals and an every hour for 2-3 hour cluster some evenings before bed. So about 6 times (minimum) a day, which I believe is in target for 2 months.
my DS is 10.5 months and we feed on demand. So during the day it's rare we go 3 hrs between nursing sessions. Sometimes he goes 1 hr between feedings. I just take my cues from him. I'm comfortable nursing him anywhere so it doesn't bother me at all.
At night he sleeps 6:30-3:30, nurses for 5 minutes and goes back to sleep until 7am. He JUST started this new night schedule. Previously he was up at 11, 2 and 5 to eat over night
2-3 hours during the day for both, sometimes only 1-2 hours in the late afternoon. The first stretch at night has been 4-5 hours the past couple nights for both, then C give us another good stretch of 3-4 hours, but F is then up every 2-3 hours. they are 3 weeks old and F is significantly smaller than C.

every baby is different. by week 8 or so she was sleeping at night 8 - 9 hour stretched. during the day her feeds averaged about every 2.5-3.5 depending on naps.
Re: When did feeding gaps become longer than just a couple hours?
