I started losing my mucous plug the week of thanksgiving and have been losing little by little ever since. Last Wednesday I started having light menstrual cramps that continued into Thursday and I nested like crazy, went to my 37 week check up on Friday to find out I was dilated to a 3, 70% effaced and stationed at a -1. Once im up and around i have contractions and they willl last through the night but taper off by morning. I have been walking every day since and went today to my 38 week check up to find out I haven't progressed any. She said cervix is still a little firm but pointed in the right direction and baby is also in position. What can I do to speed up the cervix softening process and make contractions stick?
Re: speed up labor..no rude comments please
You could go into labor in a week maybe 4 more. Your baby will come when they are ready.
Honestly, birth is a process that happens on it's own. Why are all these people in such a damn hurry?

No one called OP stupid. We just can't magically tell her how to ripen her cervix faster or make her contract any more-- because we can't rush nature.
I get that everyone wants to coddle & do the "oh sweetie" thing. However, in this instance all we can say is "wait. It sucks but all you can do is wait."
Trying to rush things before baby is fully cooked is stupid & dangerous. Facts are facts.
