Dreading this weekend

On a 1-10 scale of dreading this weekend, I would rate it a 50. I am going to Chicago tomorrow to meet my sister's newborn baby. I honestly don't know how I am going to hold it together. It's not her fault that right now we are on opposite ends of the fertility spectrum but the timing could not be worse.
To add insult to injury, DH and I have a black tie holiday party on Saturday. He will look dashing in a tuxedo and I still look so bloated from the IVF meds that instead of feeling attractive and sexy in my gown I look like a sausage stuffed into its casing. Oh the joys of prolonged IF.

Any chance you can find some spanx before the weekend? Not that it's a cure, but damn-those things can hide a lot! I'm sure you'll look beautiful no matter what!

That would be hard. I have so glad that my younger sister and DH's older brother were done having kids before we went through IF. We had a few years to really enjoy our nieces and nephew before we even knew what kind of struggles we had ahead of us.
After our last m/c, turning 35, out of embryos, I've been really struggling with these emotions too. AND I have a good amount of weight to lose after 6 IVF"s and 3 miscarriages! UGH!!
