New, thought I'd introduce myself

Hi everyone, I've been doing my lurking, have read the newbie blog (I actually have to have it open while reading TB, to decode all the acronyms) and I just wanted to introduce myself to the TB before posting.

DH and I are ready to start TTC. Our original plan was to wait a year, but now we have decided to start TTC in January 2015. We are very excited, we feel like we are in a very good place both financially and emotionally, and we are ready. The reason we bumped up the date was because I found out that my family history for TTC was a little more troublesome than I originally thought, and we are ready now, so why wait? (Doctors apt to discuss any TTTC: January 20, 2015) And we've both had BOTB since we were engaged in 2013, DH cannot wait to start our family. 

I have FF, and until now have only been tracking my cycles and going off of my calendar to predict ovulation (our original BC). I did purchase a thermometer, that promptly told me my temperature was 96.1, and hasn't changed. Any suggestions for a nice one? As for the rest of the tracking, I am starting this month, and hopefully after a few months of practice will be able to have a firm cross hair on the big O date. My cycles range from 29-33 days, and are generally regular. I also have ordered Ovulation test strips, TCOYF is on its way along with PNV’s.

I hope I have a decent handle on the ideas and processes of this all, and I am excited to get to know everyone and be on this awesome site!

    Thank you! Oh, and by the way, I've been watching all the December siggy's, and yours actually made me laugh out loud! I love that movie, and I had forgotten that scene. Awesome! (P.S. Where do you go to vote for those, and/or when can you vote for those?)

    It sounds like you don't have a Basal thermometer. If you use just a regular thermometer you won't get accurate readings. I made that mistake when I first started too. The basal thermometers are at the drugstore and are located in the same section as the pregnancy tests and OPKs. Good luck!!!!

    Yeah, I made the mistake of buying the safeway brand :/ we don't have a walmart or anything nearby, so I'd have to order one or wait until Christmas when we visit family in town.

    Welcome! Pick up a basal thermometer on Amazon or when you can, and good luck with the reading, OPKs and sex!
    TB is dead.

    Thank you everyone! I have ordered the Mabis thermometer, and it will be here tomorrow (paid for the extry 4 bucks to have it soon, I'm to excited to wait)
