I'm torn. I don't want to have a ton of presents under the tree for the kids. I want to keep it light each year, because I know they will get a ton from family.
So I want to give one really good toy each year (or maybe two small ones).
For C I'm leaning toward this:
My daughter is the harder one. We got a big contain full of Duplo blocks from the neighbor (she had way to many given as gifts and she wants them reduced).
Do I:
1. Wrap up the Duplo blocks and give them as a gift.
2. Buy her a small gift and wrap up the Duplo blocks?
3. Give her the blocks and then buy her a good gift?
If it helps, I think I'm going to get her a Play Doh set.
Thoughts?
For the record, I've also got a book (Harold and the Purple Crayon and the Lorax) and a piece of clothing (pajamas for her and a diaper for him).
Re: Gift Giving for Kids
Okay, my thoughts on the gifts... I'd give the blocks, the play doh, and maybe something small-ish to go with it unless your oldest is able to have free access to the play doh all the time. (My oldest is 2, so play doh is a supervised activity; thus at my house, the doh wouldn't be something he could play with all day long like other toys and that kind of sucks a little bit of the fun out of it for me.) Maybe you could get something that both of the kids could use and enjoy together?
