Anyone else??

I am EBF. Im thinking its a growth spurt (Lord Im hoping it is). Baby boy used to eat every 3 hours on the dot. Occasionally 4 hours over night. Since Monday he has dropped to every 2 hours or sometimes once an hour or 3 hours if he is passed out. I just fed him at 8. And at 9 he was smacking his lips and pulling his hands to his mouth. I know I am producing enough milk it was all over his face when he at 1 hour ago. And we were just at the drs for his 4 wk checkup on Friday and he has gained 9.5 oz in 9 days. I am not sure what is going on! I dont want him to be hungry but I also dont want to overfeed him. Anyone else baby hit this phase at 5 weeks?

Yup! It's very frustrating! Sometimes it's 30 mins after she had feed.

Definitely sounds like a growth spurt! LO does this as well, especially in the evenings, but it could be any time of day.

In regards to the weight gain, I'm pretty sure half an ounce to an ounce a day is normal.

My LO went through the same thing and I was worried he wasn't getting enough but after almost a week he went back to his regular feeding schedule. My lactation consultant said this is perfectly normal and not to worry unless I was noticing LO not gaining.

It happens last night we fed from 9:45 - midnight he would eat I work burp he would almost be asleep then wake up like a hungry man. Usually happens when they are growing.

Yes, Eli is 5 weeks and in the same boat. I wonder also if since he is overall more alert he is wanting to eat sooner where before he would be sleeping until longer to get to that 3 hour point. I feel like a cow/milk machine right now.

I'm in this club too and ds will be 3 weeks tomorrow, she was 4 days past due date. I thought I was failing as a mother lol glad to hear I'm not alone!!

Thanks everyone! He has gained 2 lbs from his birth weight. That was as of last Friday. Im curious about his weight. I may see if I can get a weight check appt for him beginning of next week.

Yes this is us too - we are feeding every 1 or 2 hours round the clock...I'm beat - super challenging with a 3.5 year old thrown in there - this will end right?

My boopie was doing this last night too after having good/predictable sleep habits overall since birth, but she's only 10 days old (and was 3 days overdue). Is cluster feeding like this still normal for a younger baby like her...? So far it's only happened once, last night...

Yup!! We are up 4 pounds form birth weight at 6 weeks -- growth spurts are no joke! I swear I can see him getting bigger before my eyes!

Yup my LO started a growth spurt yesterday and it has definitely been crazy, she is eating about every 1 to 1.5 hours. I miss the days where I knew she would be down for a nap for at least 2 hours, now she sleeps for like half an hour and suddenly wakes up hungry again!

Same boat. Little lady will be 2 weeks on Sunday and is cluster feeding like this, but at night only. Gonna ask the pedi today at her appt - I'll let you know what she says,

Mine was 2 weeks and change when he went through it.
