hcg deemed an "inappropriate number"

Had blood drawn yesterday, They called me right away today to say my hcg was "an inappropriate number" and they want a scan tomorrow. I freaked. The nurse who called me didn't expect that or even have my results to tell me. I had to poke and prod different departments to get it.
32,178. Why is this inappropriate? What? They have me dated later by my lmp( 7w2d ), but my o date was 3-4 days after a normal o date so I calculate 6w6d.

Has anyone experienced this?

    That looks like a good number? Have you had previous hcg tests done? Maybe they haven't doubled? Hope everything is ok though.

    Only other beta was 14dpo, 63. And It's pretty exact and doubled every 48 hours. By the number.

    7 – 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 – 229,000 mIU/ml

    No idea why she would call them inappropriate if they're doubling. Hopefully you get some good news asap.
