TTC After a Loss

Where are my ute crew ladies?(all welcomed)

I dropped off the face of the planet for a bit after my 6th loss( ruptured ectopic) and a cross country move. We are all settled and I met with my new OB who I love, which for the first time ever thinks the losses relate to my bicornuate/adhesions. The plan is a hysteroscopy, lysis of adhesions and resection of septum. Yeah I get to have balluterus!!!! He said two days off work, does that sound about right? Any experiences would help, TIA

Yes, indeed! I had a balloterus.

First, Zapgurl, I'm so sorry for all you've been through. I had hysteroscopy and lysis of adhesions back in August. The recovery was not too bad. The surgery itself didn't take long. I was "out" under heavy IV sedation and local anesthesia, so I don't remember it, but my DH said I was only in the operating room for like half an hour.

When I woke up, I remember having a lot of cramping pain. They quickly gave me a Vicodin and that took care of that. I also went home with an Rx for Percocet, but I didn't end up needing it. I slept off the Vicodin and felt quite a bit better when I woke up, just tired. Advil for a few days took care of the pain. I also was put on an antibiotic to prevent infection.

And, yes, the balloon catheter. I'm not gonna lie, it was not my favorite thing ever. It wasn't painful, but it just felt uncomfortable. When I would try to have a BM, I felt like I was pushing out the catheter, even though I wasn't. I also ended up getting a UTI shortly after it was removed. But it was worth it because I didn't end up having any scarring. I also took a course of hormone therapy (Premarin) for several weeks afterward.

I also took 2 days off work. I had it done on a Thursday, so I took Thursday and Friday off and then had the weekend to recover.

Since then, I have gotten pregnant again and had another loss, but my RE does not believe it has anything to do with the surgery. I just had an MRI this week and it showed that my uterus is structurally normal and everything looks fine.

HTH, and feel free to PM me with any specific questions if you think of anything later.
