Sunday symptom check in

i haven't seen a symptom thread for a while, so I thought I would start one since we all have some swamp crotch to complain about ;)

I think swamp crotch is my number one complaint at the moment. That and the heart burn! Ugh!!
I still gag and sometimes throw up when brushing my teeth.
This past week I have slept like garbage. I have slept well through my entire pregnancy so far, so idk if this is the "beginning of the end" or just a bad week.
My feet and legs are getting tired by the end of the day and it's getting harder and harder to climb the stairs 15 times a day at work.
Also, all along I have been waiting for my sex drive to kick in and it just hasn't. I can't imagine it will come back in 3rd trimester either :(

Re: Sunday symptom check in

  • Oh, lawdy, the symptoms are back and have a bone to pick with me apparently:

    -SWAMP CROTCH. Why, body, why????
-RLP. They may be Braxton Hicks, but I'm not as sure as I thought I would be about differentiating them.
-Back pain from the middle of my back to my tailbone, stretching across both sides. It also constantly feels like it needs to pop, but I can't get it to do so. Like tiny pockets of pressure. Anyone else?
    -Heartburn. Keeps me up every.damn.night.now.
-MS seems to be creeping back. Frosted flakes were a no go this morning.
-Headaches. I drink a glass of water when it starts. Sometimes it helps, sometimes no.
    -Congestion. So much snot.
    -Snissing all the time.
-Does rage count as a symptom?
    and finally
-I've noticed an especially gratuitous amount of boob sweat in the last few days. Weird.

  • I've started waking up to charlie horses and the heart burn is un real. It also seems like I can not sleep longer than 3 hours at a time. Oh, and no matter how awesome my posture is, I feel a tingly sensation between my shoulder blades. Im guessing I need a new bra?
  • Heartburn - keeps me up almost nightly.

Hip and tailbone pain - all the laying!

Crazy gas - like every 90 seconds

Rectal Charlie horses - which are super fun in combo with the gas

Swamp crotch - I never knew I could smell so bad

    I'm super sexy!
  • Is lightening croch that random sharp pain you get in the croch area? Or is it something else?

Oh and I forgot the snots!! Yuck!!
I thought I was coming down with a cold but I think its just pregnancy snots :/

  • Oh let's see, acid reflux, hip pain, no sleep... ever, dizzy, feeling faint, sinus congestion, headaches, nausea is back, peeing every 5 minutes all day and night and my baby who has apparently taken up Irish river dancing.
  • The gas is toxic. Even my dogs are scared of my farts.
Terrible sternum pain. Feels like someone punched me right between my boobs.
My hips feel so sore and rickety.
Oh and those late night cervix kicks from the LO that make you jump out of bed-yeah those are a lot of fun.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Acne so bad my midwife freaked & thought it was impetigo. :(

Severe L upper back pain my (ER doc) husband is worried about being a PE, since I commute 9 hr a week. I have no other sx & it's relieved by rest and massage, so I'm refusing to go in for a d-dimer. My luck it'd be a false positive & I'd end up on heparin... Mehhhh.

Tailbone/sacrum pain - fun. Makes it tough to be active since it's much worse after walking.

Could be so much worse I suppose.
  • @mangomimosa I have to be honest- I didn't understand any of that second paragraph. I read it in the voice of john madden though, so that may have contributed ;)

Lol sorry. I'm on my phone -- my husband thinks I might have a pulmonary embolism b/c I have major risk factors. I think it's just a muscle strain since I have no other symptoms of a clot (and could rest/massage relieve pain of a blood clot? I think not!) -- if I go in, the ER will do a test & I'm worried it will be a false positive. He's just being paranoid b/c he knows what he'd do if I was his patient. I did promise him I'd go in if I had any other symptoms though.
  • Everything from my hips down hurt. And I've developed a stabbing pain in the center of my right heel that activates when the muscles pull a certain way. Also, just not sleeping well in general thanks to hip/leg pain. My husband made me use a pillow and Tylenol last night and that seemed to help. Oh, I also have less balance the more tired I get which is embarrassing.

  • @mangomimosa‌ Ah thank you for the clarification. :) and wow that's a mighty big suspicion! PE is nothing to mess with- although I think you're probably right if massage and rest helps it. :) Fx that it goes away soon!
  • @RQuinlin‌ fx that it's just your body practicing and that LO is content to stay cooking for a while :)
  • I have the usual killer heart burn and some fun pelvic girdle pain to top it off. It feels like I'm being split in two. Quite unpleasant.

Terrible pregnancy carpal tunnel. Both arms are painful and numb. I can't even open a bottle of medicine or can of diet coke.

    Swamp crotch. Uggggg.

Gas every morning when I wake up. Never have I ever imagined my body could produce something like that.

Swelling in my legs and feet. It comes and goes - but when it comes it stays for a few days.

    No sex drive.

Aversion to almost anything that is healthy and exercise.

    The snores. Big man snores.

I tried to think of the good - other than the little babe actually being inside I don't have one.

  • The heartburn is killing me!! I never sleep anymore! I'm sure it's the combo of the heartburn, the baby kicking, or the fact I have to pee all the time!

    Yessssss.
  • Tail bone pain, back pain, shoulder pain, pretty much whole body pain.

The peeing is insane and I feel like I have to go sooo bad and it will be a few drops. I also keep getting up off the toilet and realizing I still have to pee and having to sit back down. Seriously considering depends.

TERRIBLE sleep caused by the above.

Feeling irriated, emotional, anxious, weepy and other various emotions that change as often as the clock.

Although I did discover one advantage to being pregnant at the grocery store today:

  • Sorry I don't know why it put the pic in 3 times!
  • So much heartburn/reflux, it's awful! My entire upper body is sore all the time, my back, shoulders, torso area. And I feel like a balloon that keeps expanding, with little to no room to expand. Ugh. :((
  • Yes to the heartburn. Oh. My. Gosh. Started a week ago today so bad that I had to get up and retreat to the couch practically sitting up to sleep. Bought some tums and was better the next day thank goodness. On and off since then but nothing as bad.

The peeing. I think baby is kicking/punching the bladder a lot because I'll get the sudden urge to pee and nothing comes out but a few drops!! And this goes on a lot. Someone mentioned depends...I wouldn't mind those at night bc I get up too pee several times.

    Fatigue.

Legs/feet hurt a lot, not swelling yet but just hurt! Like my work shoes are really uncomfortable. And occasional leg cramps but nothing as bad as a couple weeks ago.

Still no swamp crotch here but I guess it's coming?

Ohhhh!! Not really a symptom, well kind of a problem because of a symptom. All my hair is growing faster and I've accumulated some really cute thick dark hairs on my lower belly. So I've been shaving them. Well. I have an ingrown one a couple inches from my belly button and it's driving me CRAZY. I NEED IT OUT. It's not long enough to pluck out yet but I keep trying every night and I've made the area all irritated. No more shavey there for me.

  • @lisap0924‌ I would advise against shaving the belly area. Plucking hurts but that's what I'm doing now because I can't have this mess again! I never have had this problem anywhere else, yikes.

Cramps, bloating and indigestion after dinner almost every night. I keep telling myself to slow down and eat less, but the symptoms don't kick in right away, so it's always hard. :P

Sleeping has started to get worse again (was bad in my first trimester due to MS and just a general feeling of discomfort) and it's back again. Just restlessness, generally being uncomfortable, the belly starting to "hang" when I sleep on my side so I feel a pulling sensation unless tucked with blankets/pillows..... hot/cold/hot/cold....and itchy! Always itchy everywhere!!

Stretch marks. Ugh. Nothing on my tummy yet, but my boobs have some on the outer sides...... :(

Right now I have a dull ache in one of my legs. Sort of like growing pains almost.... took an hour long bath and still didn't help.

Still gag when I brush my teeth. And I find my gums are starting to bleed sometimes when I brush my teeth. Which makes me gag even more. Yuck.

Farting. Oh ya, I just let a crazy loud one rip..... and I'm not ashamed. :P

Getting harder to move. Especially when I'm lying or sitting down...... getting up is getting more difficult. Guess those core muscles have really started to loosen/stretch! And sitting down isn't a walk in the park either.

Is nesting a symptom? :P I've become super anal about the smallest little things around the house. We had some scuffs on the walls that were driving me nuts, so I went to do some touch ups. Which became an entire days work, essentially walking around the house with a paint roller and finding more and more imperfections. And I have the constant desire to go buy baby stuff..... i feel overwhelmed like I've done nothing, bought nothing, nothing is prepared. I know I have months left...... but it's still stressing me out!

  • Lots of mucus to the point I choke in my sleep front it clogging my throat, extreme heartburn, a feeling like food is stuck in my chest, exhaustion, severe back pain, swamp crotch, boob sweat, amazing amounts of gas, constipation, frequent urination, popping sore hips, aching uterus, leg cramps, feet swelling, and very very wiggly baby who seems to love to kick the side of my belly hard while I'm trying to sleep.

Needless to say...... One and effing done.
  • Ditto the tailbone pain and peeing. Am I the only one with a hemorrhoid at this point? Last pregnancy I had bad, bad varicose veins all in the nether region, but they went away thankfully. A hemorrhoid is just a type of varicose vein, so guess they're back in a nastier way. Do the hemorrhoids go away on their own after delivery?

Oh the hemrroids are just a blast aren't they?! I've had them now for 3 or 4 weeks already. As long as they aren't bleeding or hurting severely there's not much you can do. My dr just said buy the tucks pads and ointment. I had some small ones with my last pregnancy, but they are out of control with this one!!! I know that if you have a regular vbac hemrroids can get a lot worse, but they eventually will go away. My best friend who is a labor and delivery nurse says after kids hemrroids are the gift that keeps on giving lol, because once you get them they're bound to pop up again and again! Yay.
  • Ugh the tailbone pain!!!
I have been so exhausted lately, like first tri exhausted.
And suddenly my sense of smell is out of control. I've never had an issue with smells before, even in my last pregnancy, but it's killing me.

  • Let's see... Sciatica, alternating constipation/diarrhea, heartburn, reflux, exhaustion, hemorrhoids, fissures, sore stomach, non-stop mini pees, swamp crotch, mid back pain, numbness/funny sensation in arms, dizzy spells, excess snot, hair overgrowth everywhere but my head (where it's falling out,) strange dreams and complete emotional turmoil... I think that covers most of it. Oh, and baby likes to kick down low and toward the back lately, right in my gut. Not painful, just really gross feeling.

I have had a cold this past week, plus diarrhea... Woo

Swamp crotch here too... I did shave my lady bits today, because I am convinced the smell was coming from the over growth of pubic hair.

While we're on my vagina... Guess who has a skin tag there?! I named it Cleo.

Oh I am also experiencing ms again!!!!! Wtf!!! I threw up doing the dishes the other day.. Then there was a hamburger incident. Seriously?!

It's so hard to bend down. I tried putting lotion on my feet and it was a no go. Ashy feet for winter. Perhaps I can convince H to put lotion on my feet.

Speaking of stretching, I have been doing prenatal yoga, so you would think bending to reach things wouldn't be an issue? Anyways, I am happy I have at least forced myself to do something healthy, it at least makes up for the two cupcakes I ate tonight at work.

P.s lady bit shaving took me almost an hour... Sorta ridiculous. I am going to attempt to keep things under control to avoid crazy 70's bush look from happening ever again.... It was so bad.

  • Another swamp crotch victim.

I'm also having really sharp pains/numbness right below my left breast. It's only in that area and it really hurts, especially when I cough. It's really weird. My doctor didn't really have an answer for me either.

  • Ahh the swamp crotch.. It's real y'all!

So is the hip pain. It wakes me up often which only leads to me being more exhausted. Also, my left leg tends to go numb when I sit indian style. I went to my vein doc last week because my leg has been hurting and he said it's all because of baby and should go away after he's born. Yay.

    Gas is great.

My libido has disappeared and I don't foresee it coming back any time soon. Poor H.

My feet and legs swell but it's not to the point that someone looking at it would be able to tell unless they see the line my socks make. I can tell by how they feel.

And my feet, oh my poor feet! They hurt ALL.THE.TIME. Carrying around 30+ extra pounds is taking a huge toll on my feet and it doesn't seem to matter what shoes I wear, they always hurt after my day is over.

The worst is the heartburn. I'm now on 2x a day Zantac + Tums as needed.

And last but not least, I think I've been having BH. I'll feel tight pressure down in the bottom of my tummy/pelvis region and when I push on my stomach, my entire uterus is rock-hard. This happened twice last night in a matter of 10 minutes or so. It's the strangest feeling.

Also, @mangomimosa I understood everything you said! I used to be a unit secretary in ICU and had to be able to read the doc's orders and shorthand. Fx that it's nothing major and it goes away! This reminded me of another symptom.. back spasms. They're only on one side and only happen randomly but boy are they uncomfortable!
  • Feels like belly is riding up into my chest, especially when sitting down.

Minor insomnia. It's 1:30 am and still awake.

Nausea hit me like a brick again 2 weekends ago. All my dinner came back up! WTF?! Now it just comes and goes whenever for like 1/2 hr. I don't care, keeping 2 pills of Diclectin in the system daily to keep things under control, especially in the evenings.

Gas. Farting never felt so good!!!

    Cramping calves.

I can moisturiZe everything except below the knees... White flaky lower legs. Just very uncomfortable to bend over that far to lather lotion.

Exhaustion after being on feet for more than 2 hours.

    Bloat.

I've been lucky to find my "better stop eating now" point. No more reflux! Eat some food, question: "still hungry?" Yep. Good. Stop! 10 min later brain registers tummy is comfy.

Still can't eat chicken. So much for lean protein diet.

    Pregnancy brain.

26 wks today and still could fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans! Not sure if that's a good thing or not!

I have to ask, what is swamp crotch??
  • So much heartburn... I've got to get better at eating smaller meals more frequently, but that goes against 33 years of my life, so that's a tough change.

My libido has taken a nose dive, which is unfortunate. My feet are starting to swell off and on. I'm working at putting them up while at work more, but that means putting them on my guest chair, which then makes me sit in such a position that my tailbone hurts.

I'm definitely emotional -- I think I've cried at something on NPR everyday for the past two week on my drive to work or home. Pregnancy brain is in full force; I can't remember dates and times to save my life.

The two skin tags on my anus were not something I was expecting in pregnancy. No stretch marks yet, but there is still time, I'm sure. I'm hopeful that my old, horizontal "I was fat" stretch marks will save me a bit on vertical pregnancy stretch marks.

Is a stuffy nose a pregnancy thing? I'm definitely more congested than usual, but I chalked it up to the variable weather we've been having.
  • @CoozieInMyPurse‌ yea, a stuffy nose is a pregnancy symptom. I spend a few extra minutes in the shower every morning and the steam really helps clear me out. My stuffy nose isn't much, idk how bad others are.

Okay, i have another symptom to add. My legs have been falling asleep while im awake. If I cross my legs at all or try to sit criss cross apple sauce within like 30 seconds(im not even being dramatic) they go numb and tingly. Is there anything i can do to improve circulation other than avoid sitting in those positions?
  • I can sympathize with many of the symptoms you ladies have listed.

But my #1 complaint is major tingling and aching pain in my hands and wrists. It hurts to make a fist and I feel like I can't grasp anything tightly. I think it may be carpal tunnel? If I try to knit or do anything repetitively with my hands, they fall asleep and I get burning pains in my wrists....plus my hands are swelling on top of that.
  • My body switched over to third trimester mode like clockwork.  In the last week I've gotten more tired and heartburn for the first time in my life.  It seems to get worse when I drink a lot of water, so I'm trying to sip between meals, but its hard!

Sleeping has been problematic for a while.  I have to turn over about ten times a night because my hips/knees will hurt on that side.  By morning it really hurts no matter what.  The bright side is that once I get out of bed and stretch a little it mostly goes away.

I kind of wish I hadn't read the term swamp crotch on this forum, but sounds about right.  I definitely have the snot issue too, but its really just a few nose blows a day, not anything like a cold or allergies.
