i am one week late today for period and am having every symptom in the book. It would be my 3rd. All my hpt's have been neg. Go for blood test on Monday. I'm so impatient!!
I stopped birth control 10 days into cycle and we did it a few times and then I felt moderate cramping nov 28-30th with nausea, smell aversions, now my breast are huge and I never have any of these with pms. I've been researching and many women do not test + until 8-10 weeks.
Unfortunately I have no clue when i ovulated. Only know when we did the BD and when i started to feel all sorts of symptoms which I know can also be PMS. I am cautiously optimistic.

Sperm can live up to 5 days in ideal conditions. So you *could* have conceived 5 days later than you think. PPs gave good advice. Negative test = not pregnant at this time. Test once a week until you get you period or go 60 without one. If you go 60 days without a period then call you dr.
I was 9 days late before I got a faint positive. Yes I was temping. The blood test the next day said nope, but 2 days later it registed in the second blood test.
Be careful about getting ahead of yourself. It's hard, but it's better to doubt it now than find out you were wrong in a few weeks.

Kate, kind of strange the hpt showed faint positive and neg for blood when blood test is supposed to be more sensitive and accurate. Were you sure that your were and having symptoms and if so, which ones?
I'm just trying to figure out if anyone else has or is in the same boat as me. Don't know why it's such a big deal to you.
It's not a big deal to any of us. You are on a pregnancy board and at this time you are not pregnant. We aren't going to blow smoke up your ass and tell you what you want to hear. PP have been very helpful & have told you "in their experience" negative test = not pregnant. You do not know when you ovulated so you do not know if you are late. The "fact" about waiting 8-10 weeks late is WRONG. Our "advice" is to not get ahead of yourself & to wait a week and retest. But until you have a positive you are not pregnant. Don't waste your Drs time or money on a blood test for no reason.

I was about a week "late" the month I stopped my birth control. I say "late" because after you stop BC, your cycle can and usually does get all screwed up. So while it was late to my typical standards ... those standards went out the window when I stopped BC. Time for new standards! I too, thought I felt pregnant. But like the ladies said above, BC really effs with your body and you're going to get all sorts of symptoms while your body regulates itself without hormones.
FWIW, I got pregnant the second month off BC both this time and last time. I knew a few days before my missed period (no symptoms, was just randomly checking).

I had all of these symptoms plus some the month I got off BC. I also had a longer than normal cycle. They were just side effects of no longer being on BC. If you're pregnant, a test will turn positive.

What everyone said. Too bad she doesn't listen and is only answering people who are giving her the glimmer of hope. @jenherman64 please don't come back here unless you are 110% sure you are pregnant and due in August. Next time make sure you read the "READ ME FIRST" threads at the top of any board!

BC jacks with your body, and often times doctors recommend you wait at least one full cycle before TTC (at least at my ob office). Maybe talk to your doctor when you go in for your blood test. Also, if it is negative, hop on over to the TTC board. They have tons of info for figuring out if/when you ovulate. But don't use the word preggers.
Are you sure it said 8-10 weeks?! That's usually when people are getting prepared for their first ultrasound for Pete's sake! Heartbeats can be heard! Are you sure it wasn't more along the lines of 8-10 days? Even days past ovulation? We got our first at 8DPO but super faint. 10 dpo was rock solid. That was before a missed period.
BC can make your cycle a little crazy. I disagree with people saying "negative absolutely means your not pregnant" because you don't get a positive until a few days after the fertilized egg has implanted and made enough HCG to register a positive and different tests have different sensitivities. If you're TTC should always take care of your body as if you were already pregnant to err on the side of caution. BUT don't set yourself up for heartache. There's still a really good chance it hasn't happened yet.
I found out on Sunday. Hubby and I were not trying so I didn't think much of it when I was late. I've been late by a week or so a few times.
So the week came and went, then another and then I decided that I'd do a test on Monday but decided I was deluded and should just get it over with. I'd been cramping, my boobs were swollen - which always happens right before my period - and I was really irritable.
When those two lines should up I couldn't believe it. I wasn't sure how far along I was so doc sent me in for an ultrasound on Tuesday. I got to see bubs heartbeat 116 per minute
I was 6 weeks 1 day along now I'm 6 weeks 3 days!!! Soooo excited!!!

She doesn't belong here (yet, if ever), and neither did this topic. She's not pregnant as per her HPT and all the so wanted advice she received here implied. If we had everyone who thought they might be pregnant at this time just jumped in this group and bogged down our board, it would be INSANE!

I received my BFP on 11/30/2014. I have 28 days cycles and was supposed to get my monthly on 11/27 (Thanksgiving day). With the holidays always been crazy around here I just figured I was late this month due to stress. Nope, I was wrong! Baby on the way.My kids are all separated pretty far apart. Going to be like starting all over for us!

Wow! I didn't realise this was such a testy thread. I read the title and the first post and responded. As far as I am aware that is how forums work.
Wouldn't want to get off topic and booted into user sub space.
