Mixture of Emotions - Is It Normal

I'm pretty new to The Bump so bare with me.  My hubby and I have recently started TTC but I must say there are a mixture of emotions on my side.  My hubby is super thrilled but me.....I have an overwhelming feeling, stressful, nervous and scared. Is all this normal?

Re: Mixture of Emotions - Is It Normal

  • I am in the same boat as you and I'm having the same feelings.  Therefore, I'd say it's probably normal.  :)

  • Yes it's normal to be overwhelmed, scared, nervous, or stressed.  Having a child is a huge decision and a huge change.
  • my husband is  super scared to start TTC. we are planning on starting in august.. I think having a set date to " have a chilld" is what scares him.. one time he said " if you got pregnant now, unexpectedly i would be okay with that". but when we talk about a set date to start TTC, he starts getting nervous and scared..but I on the other hand.. am a little nervous.. but just nervous that something will go wrong/be wrong with me or the baby.
its normal.. its a new life.
  • That's absolutely normal and to be honest, you'll feel that way right up until you take that baby home! Becoming a parent is a huge milestone and it's completely unchartered territory for you. It's perfectly normal to feel unsure about the future. :)

  • Totally normal...and probably a great sign that you understand what a big decision you're making. :) We already have two children, and, last night as I went to sleep realizing that conception might have taken place in the past day or so, I got panicked, hoping that we've made the right decision. So...yes, it's normal. :)
