Any other mommas getting sick these holidays?

So 24 weeks today with baby number one! I recently started getting a stuffy/runny nose along with a terrible scratchy feeling in my throat when I would wake up. Over the next few days, it got worse. I started coughing all day and night and now I have terrible sharp pinching pain on my lower left and right sides when lying down on my sides. Anyone know if this is normal?

Sounds like a cold + round ligament pain. If you're worried call your doc, but yes it sounds normal.

Getting sick while pregnant is just as normal as getting sick while not pregnant and even more common later in pregnancy because of your decreased immune system. It sucks more because you can't take anything for it but yes it's normal. I'm home for day #2 with a stomach bug trying to not pass out and keep food down. It's miserable but thankfully baby is ok and after 2 days of hell I'm getting better. Best of luck to you! Rest, drink lots of fluids and keep taking your vitamins!! I hope you feel better soon!

Could be a cold, could be pregnancy congestion. I had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Netti pot will be your best friend. I still have the congestion, but it is much less. I hear humidifiers help as well. I think my throat was hurting from mouth breathing and post nasal drip. Sucks!

I had bronchitis. Coughing till puking and needing to change lots. And some bleeding from the amount and force of cough. Awful to say the least!
Flu is bad this year and going around! Don't hesitate to call your GCP if you feel you need! I needed an inhaler and nasal spray and was better in no time!

Yup. Been sick all week. Stuffy, cough. Idk if it's a cold or just the pregnancy congestion. Sudafed and robitussin were recommended by my doctor and have made life better. I've also been using a warm most humidifier at night, and a saline nasal spray.

What's that have to do with the holidays? I love the holidays, I got my flu shot, avoid sick people, and I wash my hands/use hand sanitizer on a regular basis.

I got bronchitis at 15 weeks and I'm still coughing at 24 weeks. I guess illness can be a bit more severe and harder to get rid of due to suppressed immune system. Try to rest and wash your hands often.

Post nasal drip and head congestion have been the worst. We've had a lot of temperature changes lately which can't be helping. Lots of rest and fluids seemed to help... Oh and the 3 or 4 now empty boxes of Kleenex
