I have only been on the receiving end of tonsillitis, I was young and I remember being sick..... a lot. I had my tonsils removed when I was 10 years old.
We went to the Dr today, and dd was diagnosed with tonsillitis, and she is miserable.
She is having a hard time swollowing, eating, sleeping.
I have been trying to give her foods she likes, fruit is always easy, but anything with lumps or hard to swollowing forget it. We have also reverted back to purées.
I froze some fruit purées to make Popsicles.
Does anyone have experience with tonsillitis in a 14 month old or small child? I would appreciate any words of wisdom.
We have been up every night for the past 3 nights. Hoping the ibuprofen gives her some relief!
Thank you ladies.
Re: Tonsillitis, Any experience?
No advice, sounds like you are doing everything I can think of. Would being in a steamy shower help maybe? Soothe the nasal/throat passages?
DD just got diagnosed with croup so I commiserate with your being up and the worry that comes along with a sick kiddo!
Thank you ladies, we had a bit better night, except for the poopy diaper at 3:30 am!.... I thought we left that stage behind 9 months ago!!!
I am hoping dd is better by Friday, I am going to Vegas this weekend!
I was feeling guilty for leaving DD with DH and mil, but I need some time to myself!
Looking forward to enjoying a weekend paid for in Vegas! (Company Christmas trip!!)
Glad she's feeling better!
Don't feel guilty - easier said than done I know. You need and deserve a break Mama!
