Multiples

Put me outta my misery!

I'll start with - I know full well it's best for the girls to be inside as long as possible....

With that being said; I've stayed overnight in L&D 2x now, 1 of which I was taken from office visit via ambulance.

Been contracting every 5 min for DAYS now, sometimes closer. And, the contractions hurt.

I'm dilated to 3.5 & 80% effaced. Just had a 6lb weight gain in 4 days.

Protein in urine as of yesterday (b/w came back ok)

BP slightly elevated

My feet throb!!! Pitting edema is ridiculous! (See pic!)

I have the worst menstrual cramps that radiate to my back- couldn't even sleep through the pain after dr gave me Oxy to help!!

It hurts to stand. My vagina feels swollen & like it's gonna fall out!

Ok. I think I'm done complaining. ;)

(I'm 35wks- had steroid shots at 32 wks)

You're allowed to complain! Of course you want what's best for your LOs but it still sucks being uncomfortable. Not much longer, you can do it!
  • Complain away - that sounds incredibly miserable! Hope you find some relief soon.

  • You guys have that bag packed, right? It was less than a week from the time that my BP and proteins elevated to the time that I landed on hospital bed rest for pre-e - I made it to the 37w mark before they induced (they generally avoid letting you go past 37w with pre-e).

  • Sounds familiar - don't feel bad about complaining, I.  Was.  MISERABLE.
Sounds like you're very close - I was like that and then ended up in the hospital for HBP.  Didn't even realize I was in labor until I convinced the nurse to get a Dr to check my cervix.  34 +1, Babies did great, were on room air from the beginning.  They were sent to the NICU as a precaution.  Lilli came home the day after me (born at 4.12) and Liam stayed for 6 more days bc they said he wasn't eating enough, until we argued with the Drs and they let us bring him home on the condition that we'd see our pedi in a few days for a weight check.. He gained 14 oz his first week home - what do they know?
If you're already at 35 weeks, I'd say you're doing VERY well and have absolutely nothing to worry about.  Go ahead and gripe and don't feel guilty about it!!

  • Well, ctx's were 2-5 min apart and landed me back at hospital today..... Thought FOR SURE this was it!! The ctx's were/are PAINFUL!!

Well, guess what..... Headed home. Again. Seriously! I know what labor feels like and these ctx's are it! Cervix just isn't going past 3.5. :/. So, picking up an Rx for ambien & Oxy. Gotta be kidding me.

  • WOW!!! That sounds awful. I had a "dream come true" pregnancy and I was SO DONE those last few weeks.

I am glad you got the steroid shots and are making it past 35 weeks. That said, my two didn't grow at all after 35 weeks and ultimately were better off out than in (I wanted to keep them in despite my doctor because I wanted to get over the holidays and avoid a Christmas birthday).

    That swelling is insane.

Are they waiting for you to go into labor? Or are you planning a C-Section? My dr would have taken those babies out by now, he was very nervous about me going into natural labor.

  • @CaliCarly77‌ - plan is to wait till I go into labor... Both girls are head down & we are trying to avoid c-section at all cost. (Long story- cliff notes vs: post 1st baby, perfect delivery, no infection, horrible tummy pain 5wks pp, laparoscopic surgery turned into 11days in hospital on TPN & picc line)
