Ugh... I'm rusty since it posted weird. Let's try this post again. Sorry about that!
"...so the app is back - yay!!
We're onto Elise's 10th cold since starting daycare in June. We use all the tactics out there to help her sleep at night - humidifier, saline drops, Nose Frida, elevated sleep in a rock n' play, and extra TLC. The problem? DD is just too big for the rock n' play and freaks out if I try elevating her crib mattress since she thrashes around... She also clogs up in 0.2 seconds if she doesn't sleep elevated. Does anyone prop their LO up some other way when they're sick? Pillow propping in bed? Car seat (seems like a big no-no)? Or should this FTM come to terms with shitty, shitty sleep during colds w/o an older option of the rock n' play? She's regularly a crib-sleeper, but the rock n' play has been our "sick" sleep vessel since cold no. 1.
Elevating the crib mattress wouldn't work for us either. I wish I had a suggestion, but I just want to say I'm sorry your LO has been so sick! I'm sure these smart ladies will have an answer for you
Thanks @emilyann64! DD's usually a good sport with the colds, but this one hit her hard and fast. Cutting teeth on top of this is also horrible for her :-(
My LO is in a pack and play while we live at my moms until we close on our house, but we put towels under the feet on one side. I plan on doing something like that when he gets in crib next week, too.
^ My mom suggested putting books under the feet of our PNP, and it worked great! Towels do seem like a better option since the feet will sink into the towels and wouldn't be as "slippery" as books if you accidentally bump it. The only downside is you have to remember to put them in the right way in the middle of the night.

My LO is going through the same thing :-( elevating the crib mattress won't work as she is a big mover. I think she'll be sleeping on my DH or I tonight
No advice on raising mattress but a tip on the nose frida. I was told that the more you use it the worse the snot becomes. Maybe eliminate it before bed and prehumidify her room. Also try sleeping on tummy?
With Arya, (she has a cold now too) I put the humidifier on 30 min before she goes down so it's nice and steamy in her room and usually she wants to sleep on her tummy but also helps her not to have snot running down her throat all night. I hope you find something that works.
Another tip, breast milk works the same as saline drops.
Thank you so much for all of these great tips and input! I'm going to try your suggestion @mammasuzelov and pre-humidify her room.
@dmosquera4 - I'm interested in trying the wedge, too. Is it semi-soft, or pretty firm?
@Ooopsbaby14 - I wish I owned a recliner b/c this sounds like another great option in a pinch! Maybe I'll try just propping myself on the couch with lots of pillow support behind me if she is having a really bad night.
Now she is coughing every five minutes through the monitor :-(. I'm going to the pedi walk-in hours tmrw just to check her ears, but this cough is not sounding great. I'm going to ask about the Danny Sling @MaiTaiBeth. That thing looks like another great option to consider!
Good luck to those A14ers who are caring for sick LOs!

That help a lot it goes on top of the mattress under the sheet. It's like a firm pillow
