  • WTF to me and my lack of willpower! I've been trying to eat a little healthier, especially with Christmas right around the corner. Somehow I've decided that, even though we haven't even started our first IVF cycle yet, I'm pretty much going to gain all the weight so I might as well just start now. Super.
    Married since September 2014
Me: 32, Addison's Disease causing premature ovarian failure
    DH: 32, Testicular cancer survivor
*Gameday decision** IUI or IVF cycle #1 beginning January '15 postponed to February '15
Change of plans-- Donor Egg Cycle beginning Dec '15
Currently we have our little fur-baby Milo to keep us busy!

  • @BlueFairy DH is the same way.  He can never hold onto gifts until the actual day.  So even though Chanukah doesn't start until next week, when it arrived, I got it.

@iputketchuponketchup normally I would totally agree, but I've been pushing this no gift one pretty hard since october because we spent so much on the mattress.  But what's annoying is that if you're going to insist on giving me something than everytime I ask what you want you could give me a response other than "nothin."

I get it though, they're no mind readers even though we want them to be.  I also think it wasn't about the gift as trying to do something nice for me since it's been a rough year.  So I will shut up, say thank you, and happily accept :)

Me: 31 (PCOS) possible right tube issues DH: 36 (SA normal)
Started dating in 2006, Married 2012
    TTC since November 2013
First RE visit due to irregular periods: June 2014
Lap/Hysto to remove polyps, cyst and tube blockage 11/6
Cycle 1 (Dec. 2014) TI with Clomid, Trigger, & Progesterone CX due to no response
Impatiently Waiting CD1 to try again with Fermara Back on the bench due to giant cyst,
who know I'd ovulate on my own after a cancelled cycle and end up with a mega cyst :(

  • @shafwilson - haha! This is EXACTLY what we are going through...I was like your christmas present this year is going to be treatment and (hopefully) a baby. And what does he do? He buys me an xbox because I mentioned (casually) that I wished I could play Mortal Combat with him like we did when we were first dating. I mean, i'm happy but not happy!

WTF to the mother that dropped off her three year old with no coat and flip flops and then telling me "you have extra clothes for a reason" when I told her he simply cannot wear those clothes during this season. (I work at a preschool). Of course I was frustrated but I stayed polite, but THEN she went to my boss and told them I was "giving her attitude" and "judging her for not being able to afford certain things" for her child. This is a woman with a coach purse and an iphone. Smhhhh.

  • My WTF is going to my DH today. He started growing a beard in November. I tell him every day how much I dislike the beard. Now he's decided that he won't shave it off until I get pregnant. Seriously?

  • @sunshine412, as if we don't have enough stress with IF! ;) I would be so irritated if my hubby declared that the beard would stay until I got KU. I'm sure he doesn't mean it to be - but that would feel like a lot of pressure to me.

I hope DH is kidding about keeping the beard til you're pregnant! Otherwise I would probably tell my DH that IF is hard enough without having to look at his hideous beard every day

May 2014 - Break cycle to repeat saline sonogram and re-group.  Travel to Kauai 5/7-5/12 (Yay!!)
    June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN

July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

Oh, God!  I am not sharing that tidbit with mine!  He already loves his short beard and would only need the teensiest nudge to quit trimming!
Can I just WTF Kate Middleton? Does she have to be beautiful EVERY damn day? Can they just capture a photo of her in sweatpants every once in a while? Or how about with a messy ponytail?

(Sorry, she's on the newsfeeds/twitter-verse a lot this week being in the U.S. It's kind of driving me crazy).

Just think what a scandal it would be if she were seen that way!  The Queen would kick her out of the royal family!

  • My WTF:  I have bone issues- especially in my left hip.  They tend to get more painful than usual when there is a weather system coming in or pretty much all winter.  This winter is way worse than it's ever been and I've been trying to suck it up rather than calling my doc to get an MRI and see what's going on (IVF is expensive enough!).  A couple days ago, a light went off in my head.  Fertility drugs.  I did some research that I never bothered to do before, because baby>everything, and found out that just about everything I've been on has side effects that mess with your bones.  Wonderful.  Just wonderful.  But will I stop taking them?  Yeah right!  Baby>everything.

WTF to myself. I mean, the incident happened yesterday, but the evidence showed up this morning.

So, yesterday, I got all close to the mirror in the bathroom at work to fix my hair, stepped back and turned around to leave. And slammed my face into the paper towel dispenser. Seriously, who does that? So now I have a blue bruise that looks like half a mustache. And I don't have the right concealer to hide it. Awesome!

@BunnyBerry and @rainbowbridge14 -I work for a small business so no HR to go to.  All of my co workers (all 6 of them) know what I've been through, first with IF, DH's surgery, then with IVF and now the MC so it's just them being thoughtless.  I'm working on an exit strategy to possibly coincide with our 2nd IVF cycle.  I need the money right now (trying to save for IVF#2) and don't have the time to actively look for something better.

Fertiles really don't get why this is so hard.  I haven't cried at work yet but some days the drive home is a wet one.

I'm really happy I have an appointment with my therapist tonight.  I can talk it over with her and cry and then we can plan.
Oh BlueJoan, I am so sorry. It's good you have a therapist appointment.

I might even bring it up when everyone's together, like for a meeting or lunch hour, and say something like, "I need some outside input here. Although I have just experienced a miscarriage, so-and-so insists on sharing baby pictures during sales calls. It's an extremely painful reminder of the recent loss of my child, that I'm trying to come to terms with, and is creating a work environment which is harming my recovery. Is it reasonable to accommodate my bereavement at this time until I feel comfortable seeing baby pictures again?"

But I would only say something like that because at my workplace I could trust that everyone would be on my side. If I thought people would be talking about how I'm oversensitive or blame me for creating workplace conflict, I would perhaps prepare a very serious, clear statement like this and tell the coworker, then let her know that she absolutely must respect your grieving. I feel like using words such as "loss," "recovery," and "bereavement" might strike a chord with experiences that are more common and well-understood.

  • @Buttmonkey34 - Glad AF showed up!!

@sunshine412 - I have the opposite problem. MH just shaved off his beard, and I am having a hard time coping. He is regrowing it so now his face is all scratchy. And, while I love him dearly, he has a bit of a butt chin, and it weirds me out to see it exposed. I wouldn't be a huge fan of the no shave till pregnant thing, but guys must have some deep seated instinct that by the power of their beards they can make shit happen. MH vowed not to shave until he finished his dissertation. It took a year and a half, and by the end his beard was bigger than my head. Not cool.

@triathlete23 - I am so sorry about your vitamin D levels. That is really crummy.

WTF stress. Work has been ridiculous. We are in the midst of this huge marketing campaign, and it is making me want to bang my head into a wall. To top it off, I had to run a bajillion errands after work and got in a fight with MH about whether to make tofu scramble and pancakes or pasta for dinner (Are you kidding! Who the heck cares! Just feed me!). The only bright side to this would be that maybe AF is imminent and that is why I have the crazies.
