Cloth Diapering

I don't rock today

This morning I was getting ready to give Harper her antibiotic before we left for school. For some reason the freaking pharmacy gave it to us in a glass bottle. I put it on the table and thought it was far enough back that she couldn't reach it. I went to the sink to rinse out the dropper and I heard it shatter on the floor. I turned around and freaked out. I yelled at her :( not my finest moment...Colton started crying and so did Henry. I felt awful. I called the pharmacy to explain what happened and they said that my insurance won't pay for the same medication and that it's $74 without it. I cried...literally. The lady on the phone said that she would see if the Dr. can call in a different medicine to see if insurance will pay.

Here is a picture of me today...

  • I'm so sorry, CQ.  It sucks that insurance is so ridiculous about stuff like that.

What a sucky thing to have happen. I would be upset too. Give yourself a break, get through the rest of the day. Hope the Dr. can help and that tomorrow is better!
  • Sorry you're having a crappy day, CQ. Maybe you could call the insurance and explain what happened to see if they can make an exception? Things happen, and hopefully someone is willing to help you out.

    Hugs!

  • thanks ladies. I called the Dr office to check on the status of it and they called in a different med so that the insurance will pay. It might night work as well as the other one but hopefully it will.

I totally agree with this.  A lot of times if you call the insurance company directly, they'll try to help you out.

  • ((Hugs)) CQ! I'm sorry you're having a rough day. I hope that the insurance can cover an alternate medication.

And mama, you do rock! This wasn't your fault, stuff happens!

  • Oh, sweetie! All mamas raise their voices at one time or another. Good mamas realize it's not the way to do business all the time. (You are obv a good mama!!) It will be alright. Hugs to you that you have a better rest of the day. Hugs to the boys who have already completely forgotten what happened. And hugs to Harper that she feels better soon!

You are still a great mom. Those moments happen to every parent at some point.

  • That you feel badly about the yelling shows that you a good momma.
Some parents yell all the time and don't feel badly at all.

This. And why would you ever ever ever put meds in a glass bottle??? I thought they stopped doing that ages ago.

Sorry you had such a bad day. :(

Our pharmacy still uses glass. DDs reflux meds always come in glass. I had to ask for plastic when we went on vacation because I was afraid of breaking it. I know that some medication compounds are unstable and need to be kept in glass but I'm not sure why else it is used.
