Pregnancy announcement in Christmas Card - yes or no? (Update)

I'll be starting my second trimester just around Christmas, and DH and I were thinking about sharing the news with our friends and extended family in the Christmas card this year. Just wondering, is this cute, or too attention-whoring? Our thought was to have a picture of DD with her Christmas list, with a few hand-written items on the list where the last item is "a brother or sister." Then the message would be signed from ***, ***, ***, and a baby due next July.

Thoughts?

    I think it's a great idea. For me, it's easier than calling everyone. Plus, I always feel so awkward saying "I'm pregnant". 

     That's what we're planning on doing in our card as well. Although I'm think of a note that says "Santa granted my wish, I'm going to be a big sis!"

    However, our first U/S isn't until Dec.11th (even though I'll be over 12 weeks, talk about making a mama anxious!) and I'm not making them or sending them until after the scan. So I'm relying on one hour photo to process them quick and I'll be cranking out addresses fast.

    I'm due with DS#2 1/1/15, but have a c-section schedule for 12/31/14, if I don't go before then, everything was so up in the air, that we've decided to do Happy New Year card and include pictures of the new little guy. Two birds one stone. I don't think it's attention-whoring! Isn't that what Christmas letters are for? Sharing updates about the family! :)

    Thanks for all your responses! We tried to do the picture today, but DD was just not having it. She wouldn't sit still, wouldn't keep her headband on, and was generally unhappy. I don't think the list looked great in the pictures either, so we're scrapping that idea. In the end we just used a family picture from this summer and still signed it "... and a baby due in July." Oh well, it's a nice picture at least. Also got to hear the heart beat for the first time today (10 weeks) so we should be all set to send these cards out right before Christmas! :)
