Hello crossfiter ladies, is it a problem to keep my workout routine if I'm trying to get pregnant!

Re: crossfiters and trying to get pregnant!!!

  • Only if it's causing your cycles to stop or become irregular.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

  • I'm a half ass crossfitter but my doc said it was fine while TTC and during a pregnancy.  When you get pregnant you might adjust the weights if your heavy into that but for the most part it should be fine.

  • I only do crossfit every now and then, but I am a heavy lifter and love to strength train. Like a PP said, it's okay to continue a fitness regimen, and some doctors may encourage you to remain active while TTC. I believe it's only when you become pregnant that you may have to adjust your routine and weights, but even then it's perfectly fine to continue to work out/train regularly. I'm actively TTC and work out 4-5 days a week. You'll be fine!

  • I do CrossFit almost every day besides Sunday and as long as you are making sure you're comfortable and being safe then it should be fine. I asked my OB about it and she said I would probably need to pull back on my heavy lifting and avoid doing things like burpees and adjusting to where I'm not laying on my stomach. There is a blog I believe about women who are pregnant that continue to do crossfit and it has some really good advice on how to be safe and still get a good workout while pregnant. I'll have to find it.
